May Thank You's

Hi stampers! Thanks for peeking in today at Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!

Today I wanted to share with you my May Thank You's.  I chose to use the technique color block (or that is what I call it), where you place ink using your Stampin' Write Markers, today I used Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum and Island Indigo, directly on your clear block, spritz a bit of water on it and then place it directly on your paper.  I love this technique and the way that it creates it's own background.

My card this month measures 4" x 4".  Another great thing about doing this technique is that you don't ever get the same background twice, they are always different.

For one of my cards shown above I spritzed the block more than once, filling it with water.  This caused the ink to fun and blend together more.  The second time I spritzed the block only once, barely wetting it, this allowed for the colors to stay in place and be  bit more brighter.  These two were also using just Whisper White card stock.  The third card show above I used the Watercolor card stock, spritzed my block just one and placed it on the paper.  With the Watercolor paper it left it more spotty... not getting great coverage, however this is my favorite one of the 3.

I think it just has a ton of character and is beautiful!!  I then took a solid image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and then a greeting from the Petite Pairs set (a set that is on the retiring list, that I am super sad about).  I love how they are pretty and simple:)  That's why they are listed under Sara's Simple Shares:)
