Spooky Waterfall

Good morning all and Happy Friday.  So it is "date day" today for me and the hubby.  A little antiquing, lunch, Halloween costume shopping for the little one.  A day filled with nothing but quality time! I can't wait!!
Today's card/video is of the waterfall card... I'm sorry... a SPOOKY Waterfall card,
lol!

 The actual card is a standard size card measuring at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I used a piece of Basic Black Card Stock 4 1/14 by 5 1/2 for my backing and a piece of Tangerine Tango for my color piece.  That is cut at 4 5 1/4.  I made homemade DSP, that is what i like to call it using the bat stamp from the set Wicked Cool. Next you will need a long strip cut at 2 x 9 (this is your waterfall piece) and a smaller strip cut at 1 x 4.  Your waterfall piece needs to be scored at 2, 2 3/4, 3 1/2 and 4 1/4.  For your waterfall you are going to need 4 squares cut at 2 x 2, above i used the Elegant Eggplant for my strips and squares and then 4 Whisper White piece cut at 1 7/8 x 1 7/8.  To decorate my squares i used more images from the Wicked Cool set and stamped them in Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Basic Black.  I took my sponge and did some distressing (again, what i like to call it) with my Basic Black ink to give the squares some dimension.

Well, i hope you enjoyed Friday's video.  Until Next Time... Happy Inkin'!!!

I wanted to remind you again of the Back to Spool Special that is only available for a few more days.

Pocket Card

Good morning Inkers!!  Today's card is what i think is an adorable little pocket card!!  I just love how you can either have the inside glued down so that the flaps open and reveal your greeting or how you can have the whole thing pull out, which is what i did...

The nice thing that i like about this card too, other than the fact that it is just so adorable, lol, is that it is just an average size card, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 so it will fit in an average size envelope.  Which, i love to make out of DSP paper.  I am big on making sure that my card and envelope match... it's an OCD thing that i have;)

For my pumpkin I used the Extra Large Oval Punch and the Large Oval Punch.  I punched out 3 of the Extra Large Ovals and 1 of the Large Oval.  Took my sponge and with my Calypso Coral Ink and Soft Suede Ink i sponged on the side to give it some dimension.  The leaf there is from the Little Leafs Sizzlits Die and I just free handed the stem with some Early Espresso card stock.  I love making this pumpkin.  I think that it is so cute!!!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Waterfall Card

Happy Wednesday all!  Well Wednesday means that it is the middle of the week, for some it only means 2 more days of the work week.  For others like me... it means only one more day! YAY!! I am really looking forward to this Friday, the hubby and I are taking a "date day", just him and myself.  I am a little sad about leaving my little one with grandma but realized that mommy and daddy still need some time too.  So we will see how that goes!

Today's card is called a Waterfall card.  It is called that because if you pull on the ribbon (white tail pictured above) your card then flips all of the squares up which resembles a Waterfall.  It is a really fun card to make!  The card size is an average 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base and then the Island Indigo is cut at 4 x 5 1/4, these are used as my base and backing piece.  You can't really tell by the picture, but I did the Tone on Tone technique on the Island Indigo with a stamp from the set Up, Up and Away (same set that I used on the squares).

Only a few days left for the Back to Spool Special. This is such an awesome deal I am so sad to see it go:(  Don't miss out on your free spool of 3/8" In Color Stitched Satin Ribbon with your order of at least $40, before s/h and tax.  Don't wait, place your order today HERE.

Well i hope you enjoyed today's post.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Ornament Flower

Good morning everyone and welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!

The other night i was sitting in my craft room, looking at all the wonderful Christmas stamps and punches that I am so excited to use since that holiday is coming up faster than i can imagine!!!!  I was playing around with the Ornament Punch and it dawned on me... i think that i have heard or seen someone use the ornament punch into a flower so i decided to try it and this is what i came up with.  I used about 10 punches (if not more), a few for the base and then a few, as you can see, to curl up and have the flower be dimensional.  Again, we all know I love dimension!!  After the finish product was done i thought that it came out quite well!!  A little different but super cute!!

I love using the new Core'Dinations paper too, which you can find in the Holiday Mini HERE.  I used the embossing folder, Fancy Fan with the Core'Dinations and just love the effect that it gave. That paper is AWESOME!!!  The card is a standard card size measuring at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. with the Core-Dinations also cut at 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 for my backing.

Well, i hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Paper Bow Christmas Card

Hello there all and Happy Monday.  Well, at least as happy as a Monday morning can get!  I know that Monday is not the favorite day of anyone, it's back to the "real" world.  Forced to leave our weekend behind and get back to reality, blah, lol:)  I always try to find the "silver lining" in situations though and when it comes to Monday, it just makes me realize that we are one day closer to being able to start the weekend all over again.  Corny i know but hey, it gets me through the day, hehe:)

Today's card is actually a card that i did for a challenge for my up line.  We had to use the totally cute new Snow Festival Printed Tags.  I decided to make one of my tags as a decoration on a card rather then just a normal gift tag.  The bow that i made i actually saw on another card that i saw on a different site but so sorry, for the life of me i can't figure out which one i saw it on, since i visit about 100 a day, lol:)  If i figure it out though i will for sure give props to the maker because i think that it is awesome!!

The card is an average size card measuring at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and i got to use the new Festival of Prints paper from the Holiday Mini, it is so.... FESTIVE and wonderful i just love it!!  Click Here to view the Holiday Mini.  Also, just a quick reminder, this is the last week for the Back to Spool Special so make sure that you place your orders soon.  For every $40 that you spend, before tax and s/h you get a free 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon of your choice for free, that is a $8.95 value.  Don't miss out!!!

Well i hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Here For You

Happy Sunday all.  Today's card is a really simple but sweet card.  I made this for a friend that is going through a bit of a rough time.  It is always nice to let someone know that you are there for them!  The technique that i used on this card was one of my favorites, the Tone-on-Tone technique, using the Wisteria Wonder Paper and matching ink.  I didn't have the ink colors that i want to used on the greeting, so i used my Blender Pen and colored the ink color directly on the stamp.  Gave it a little "huff" to get the ink moist again and.... wa-la, i had an inked stamp in the colors that i wanted!!  The card in an average size card measuring at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Hope you liked this simple creation.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Ghouls Pop-Up Card

Good Saturday morning all.  Today's card is a pop up card. I love dimension and what better way to show that then with a spooky Halloween pop-up!!!  I wanted the front panel of my card not to be plain... but not over the top either since there is a lot going on within the inside.

The inside of the card i think turned out real well, however, i wish i could of found a way to have the tombstones stand up a bit more.  I used dimensional behind all but one (that one i wanted to lay flat) but couldn't think of a way of having them "pop" too and still be able to close the card.  If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

The card is an average size card, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 with two additional pieces cut out (same sizes) to go over the front and back of my card.  I hope that makes sense, lol:)  You do this so that the "cuts" you made for the pop up cuts won't show and my tombstones are "cut" into the ground so I needed to cover those slits up as well.

Hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin"!!

Roll Around Technique Video

Hello everyone. Yea it's Friday... I thought that this day would never come!

Today's card video is a technique that I have recently just started using again and now it seems i can't get enough of it.  It is called the Roll Around Technique. Or at least that is what I like to call it.  Without even realizing it at first, in the video I actually show you how to do another technique that I also use a lot, Tone on Tone!  So this is like a 2 for 1 deal!! Happy Friday huh?

The card measures at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, the size of an average size card.  For the Pool Party card stock it measures also at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and the Island Indigo is cut at 2 1/2 x 5.

Christmas Piecing

Good morning all! Yay, it is Thursday for most of you that means that there is only one work day left in the week.  However, for me it is my last day of the week. I take every Friday off so that I can have a "mommy/daughter" day and I don't know what i would do without them.  Not being able to stay home with my baby girl kills me but at least this way I get one day out of the week where it is just her and I!

Today's card is a Christmas card, are you feeling the holiday cheer yet?  It is a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size card using one of the tecniques that i love to do and do quite often is Paper Pierce.  Where you take an image, stamp it on some DSP, cut it out and place it on a solid image.

The stamp set that i used came from the current Holiday Mini that is available right now until January.  There are such great items in there such as the new Ribbon Slides! Oh my gosh I LOVE these so much.  If you remember back in my room tour video i said in there that i didn't do a lot with buttons but wanted/needed to get better about that... well, it was like these were made just for me, lol! I can't get enough of them!

Well i hope you all enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'

Boo!!!

Good morning all and welcome back!!  So the last few nights i have been trying to make projects that have to do with the upcoming holiday.  As we all know by now, I am sure, that Fall is my favorite season of all time. I know that it means we are that much closer to the dreaded snow but who cares, I love the colors, smells and just the way it seems to be "homie".  Well with Fall come.... Halloween. A time where we all dress up and get to shove our faces full of candy and really... not feel that guilty about it! I am super excited for Halloween this year since it will be my daughters first.  Having a hard time thinking of what i am going to dress her up as tough... maybe a stamp, hehe:)

Anyway, back to the card.  I wanted to make a simple card actually using my Cricut machine.  So i figured, what is more simple then cutting out the word "Boo" and making it the vocal point of my card.  The card is a standand 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size card Whisper White card with a piece of Basic Black card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 for the backing.

Well, that is really all there is to this!  I hope you all enjoyed and until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Autumn Roll-Around

Good morning bloggers and welcome back!!  So, when i first saw the DSP Comfort Cafe I totally and completly fell in love with it.  I love colors that make you think of Fall.  Make you think of cozy fires, baggy sweaters, hot chocolate.... just warmth!  I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and get to crafting.

This is one of the cards that i made using the DSP.  It is a normal size card measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 with the DSP measuring at 5 1/4 x 4 so that i could make sure it was framed by the Soft Suede.  I used the "Roll-Around" technique on my image,of course the Day of Gratitude set.  I don't think that i have crafted a card lately that doesn't involve this set somehow. I am in love with the set and I love the Roll-Around technique.  Basically what you do is ink your color up in a lighter color and then roll the edges around in a darker color.  Check back on Friday for my first "technique" video!

I hope you enjoyed the card today.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Halloween Kit

Good morning all and Happy Monday to you.  Yes, once again it is Monday and for some, we begin to start the work week all over again. But, on the bright side, we are now one day closer to the fabulous weekend again!!

When I signed up for SU!, one of the gifts that I received was this super adorable memory holder (at least that is what I call it) and all of the materials needed for the Halloween theme to create a spooky cute layout!  The picture above is all that i received.  It included:
* The holder itself;
* 2 sheets of Halloween theme paper
* SU! Bling
* Bakers Twine
* A glittery spiderweb
* 2 choices of ribbon
* Buttons
* Dimensionals
* GLue Dots
* Toxic Treats stamp set.

I couldn't wait to see what i could come up with.  He are some pictures of my project:

 The finished product
 I used my Cricut and cut the letters out to spell "Boo", then heat embossed them to give them that glossy look and put some "bling" on them to add that little something.
 The punch looking paper comes on the 2 sheets that are included in the kit.  All paper needs to by cut in order to fit in the squares.
I used my Owl punch and Build a Bird Punch to make a bat!  I then used my new Googly eyes so that it always looks like he is following you.... oooooo scary, hehe!

I hope you enjoyed the post today.  Until next time, Happy Inkin'

Birthday Monkey

Good morning all, welcome back!!

Today's card isn't using any SU! procuts except for the Marina Mist card stock (119682) (blue oval) and the Whisper White Card Stock (100730), and Island Indigo Bakers Twine (125575) other than those two things i used some stamps and paper that i had laying around.  I love getting stamps out that i haven't used in awhile and seeing what i can come up with.  It's almost like they are new stamps if it's been ahwile since you used them, i love that, hehe:)

It is my father-in-laws birthday on Monday so this card is for him. The backing paper i used is from a DSP pack called This and That Charming by none other than This & That.  I used my scallop oval dies to cut out the backings and then the Monkey is called Silly Monkey from The Paper Studio.  I used my copics to color in the balloon, Y02; Y08; R35; R59; BG13; BG18; E57; E31; and E35.  You can't really see it in the card but the Whisper White oval is "puffed" up as well as the Monkey to give it some dimension.

Hope you enjoyed today's card and until next time... Happy Inkin'

3 Tier Card Video

Good morning everyone.  I am so excited for the video today, it is making what I call the 3 Tier Card.  These cards I think are so beautiful!!  They have the look that they would take forever to make but honestly they are really quite simple.  Here are the dimensions for the card - backing pieces (shown here in Early Espresso) Large backing is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, middle backing piece at 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 and smallest backing piece 3 1/2 x 2 1/4.  For the front pieces (used here in Very Vanilla) the largest piece should measure 5 1/4 x 4, second piece should measure 4 1/4 x 3 and the smallest piece should measure 3 1/4 x 2.

Hope you enjoyed the video today and until next time, Happy Inkin'

Trick-or-Treat(ers)

Hello all!  So I am soooo excited for this card.  Yesterday when I got home, after I gave my hubby and sweet baby girl some snuggles of course,  I couldn't wait to get into my room to use some of the new product that I just received from SU!. When i receive new product I am like a kid on Christmas morning, each and every time:) Aren't these little people just adorable?!?!?   And guess what?  Their eyes move!!!  With the new Googleis you can make your people a little more "alive"!

Here is a closer look at their faces, see how their eyes are popping out a bit?  I think it just adds that extra little something.  I also added some cotton in the sky for the effect of clouds.  I find that using the Liquid Glue works best for this.  I like that when you put it on, even if you get a little too much, it dries clear and you can't even tell.  Perfect for someone like me that makes a total mess with glue!!

Well I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Oh, and you might want to check back the next couple of days... i think a Give-A-Way is in the near future!!!  Happy Inkin'

Hello all and Happy Wednesday!!  SO i have to share that i just received my first new order of all new Stampin' Up Products in the mail yesterday.  The hubby helped me out the other day going through all my current stamps and products to help me figure out which ones were retired... wow.... i have a lot of retired sets (sniff, sniff), so i was SUPER excited that i am beginning to get my new product around so that i may share with you all the new and wonderful products that SU! has to offer!!  I hope to have a card with some of my new goodies tomorrow!

Anyway, back to today's card.  This card i call the 3 Tier Stamp Card.  This is such a fun and honestly simple card to make.  I made a video for this card so be sure to look for that on Sunday.  I am going to try and do a video every Sunday.  There may be a few in there every now and then during the week, if i have time, but with a little one beginning to walk around time is limited, lol!  Here are the dimensions for the card stock, I used Basic Black (121045) for the matting of my Whisper White (100730).  The Basic Black measures at 2-1/4" x 3-1/2", 3-1/4" x 4-1/2", 5-1/2" x 8-1/2.  On the Whisper White i used the stamp set Days of Gratitude (121148), this is one of my favorite sets and YAY, it's not retired!!! The dimensions of the Whisper White are:  2" x 3-1/4", 3" x 4-1/4", 4 x 5-1/4".  A partial supply list is below, i did not enter the products that i recently found were retired (i made the card before i checked all my supplies, sorry).  Hope you enjoyed the card today and until next time... Happy Inkin'

Treat Holder with Video

Well here it is, my very first card making video, oh boy was I nervous, lol~ which you can totally tell while watching.  There are punches flying around, voice mistakes, retired products... URG! It's some kind of video.  I decided to leave it though... no editing, no redoing... just the absolute first video in it's true form.  I wanted to do it this way becuase then, hopefully years to come, I can go back and watch my first video and (hopefully) see how much I have advanced.  So without further adue... (drumroll please...)

I hope that you enjoy and please, lol, be kind.  I promise they will get better!!  Until next time... Happy Inkin'

P.S.~ I didn't do a supply list for this entry since there were many items (the punch, DSP paper, etc.) that are retired (makes me sad). However if you have questions about a product you see, please, feel free to contact me!

Happy Saturday friends!  Before heading out to begin our Frontier Day festivities today i wanted to post this birthday card.  I used a stamp from Stampendous with different SU! colors to make my own DSP background.  Although the SU! colors that i used are retired and can no longer be ordered from SU! (sniff, sniff), i still thought that they would work great with this card.  Sometimes you have to dig in your pile and you find some great products that you forgot about!!  I love the bright colors!!  I don't know if you can see it on the picture, but the top layer of the cake is "puffed up" to give it that extra something. I hope you all enjoy and have a fabulous day!  Until next time... Happy Inkin'

Simple but sweet

Hello everyone.  Here in my hometown the huge Frontier Days Festival is beginning.  We have a huge parade, rodeo, (ye-haw) craft show, car shows, saloon, and so much more!!!  I volenteer a lot when it becomes festival time so we just have a simple card for today.  I sometimes think though that the more simple a card is, the more elegant it looks.  Don't get me wrong, I love embelishing cards and there is so much you can do with  buttons (however i have to start using those more), ribbon, twine, brads, glitter... oh and the list just keeps going and going.  I hope you enjoy my simple card for today.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'

Hello everyone and good morning!  Well here it is, my first ever You Tube video.  It only took me about 10-12 trys before I got it the way that I wanted it and i still find things that i wish i would of did/said different:)  Oh well, practice makes perfect right?

So I thought that my first video should of the one place where I do all of my creating... my craft space!  My husband built me a room in our basement that measured 20x20.  I loved it so much, but it ended up being just to big for me. So, he finally let me turn one of our spare rooms on the main level of our house into a space!!!!!!!  I was so excited i could barely talk (and for me, that is a big thing, hehe).  So now I am in my new space that i just love!  I'm so excited too because i have never had a space that has had a window before, i have always been on the lower level:(  Not anymore!  So I hope you like my video.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'
