Hip-Hip Hooray... it's your Birthday!!!

Hello all my crafty friends! Welcome to today's share at Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!!

Today's share is using new products from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  If you haven't seen it yet you can view the entire catalog HERE.  Today's card is a Hip-Hip Hooray... it's your Birthday card (that is what it says on the inside).  My card measures average size of 5 1/2" x 8"1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  I used the Whisper White as my base and then a piece of the Melon Mambo (Melon Mambo isn't a new color but it is one of my FAVORITES).  I ran my Melon Mambo through by Big Shot using the new Polka Dot Textured Embossing Folder. I love this folder, it is not too busy... i like that it doesn't really take away from the vocal point of the card but just gives it a nice, simple, fun look:)

I then layered another piece of Whisper White and used the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  I am obsessed with this set and the sunburst looking image. I cant get enough of it, lol:)  It is a great stamp to use as a vocal point or as a background like i used above.  This sentiment is from the new photopolymer stamp set Bravo.  The photopolymer sets are completely transparent, so you can see exactly where your image is going to be placed without having to use your Stamp-A-Ma Jig. It makes it a lot easier for a person like me that has a hard time getting things straight:)  One thing that i didn't realize when i purchased this set is that the greetings themselves are actually quite large, which i love.

The real vocal part of my card i think is the flower patch that i have in the bottom left corner.  I used the Flower Fair framelit dies with an assortment of colors.  I used Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, and Tangelo Twist.  Now, the Flower Fair framelit can be used alone, like i did on today's project but you can also purchase it in a bundle so it comes with the awesome Flower Patch photopolymer stamp set.  These are the 3 items that i am showcasing today.  Here is a closer look at all of them:

So, that is all for my share today! Thanks for stopping by and i hope you visit again soon!!! Until next time...

Kind Koala

Hi all! Hope you all had a good weekend!!!

Today's share is of a card using a new set called Kind Koala.  I am obsessed with the new stamps that you can color with the new Blendabilities.  OBSESSED!!!!!  I am still new with these markers and i'm not 100% sure how to use them.  I have played around with Copic markers before and though these are similar they are still a bit different and taking me a bit to get the hang of.

The base of my card is average size measuring 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  I found the piece of DSP from the Moonlight DSP Paper stack.  I thought it looked just like eucalyptus leaves!!! I loved it!  I stamped my image in Memento Black ink, this is the ink that you have to use when you are going to color with the Blendabilities.  I used 2 colors from the Skin Tones Blendabilites to color in my Koala.

Here is a closer look at the Kind Koala set, it is a wood mount single stamp:

Well that is all for today my friends.  Thanks for stopping by and until next time...

Picture Perfect

Hi-ya there friends! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and another card share for today.  This card i used many new products on today's card.  I just love the new items that are in the new annual catalog!  If you haven't seen it you can pass through the entire book of goodness HERE.

I started my project with a piece of Basic Black card stock which measures average size of 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  I took a piece of Whisper White cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I then used the Dictionary backgroun stamp and my new Black Memento Ink and made the base part of my card.  A long time ago SU! used to have "stencils", but then they retired and it was a super sad day... but now they have brought a few similar products back, except they are now called Masks.  Today i used the Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks and my sponges with the new In Color Hello Honey.  I took another piece of Basic Black and cut it into a thin strip to make a divider.

The stamp set that i used is the new Snapshot wood mount image.  This is a single stamp that comes in wood mount only.  It is another great stamp that you can use your Blendabilites with, which is what i did here.  Here is a closer image at the Snapshot stamp:

I didn't want my camera to be flat (you know me and dimension lol) but didn't want to do too much to it so i took my good ol' Crystal Effects and had that on my lens, which made it shine:)

So, now an update on our... move (haha if you can currently call it that... seems how we haven't moved anywhere in a few weeks).  This mess, as i am sure you have all gathered now if you have been following me for the last few posts, has been the most stressful and gut wrenching experience I have endured to date.  So after i'm not kidding about 40 million set backs, sleepless nights, and a mortgage company that filled us full of lies (but that is a whole other post all it's own, lol) we have gotten word from our new lender that we will be closing within the next 2 weeks.  I can't even express the amount of happiness that i have and relief that i feel that this is almost all over with and we will finally be in our home!  Pics to come i promise:)

That is all for tonight my friends.  Thanks for stopping by and until next time...

Wandering Mind

Hello all.  Wow, 2 posts in a row lol that is something new lately!!! :)  I was able to get into my space again and got to playing with the new set Sweetbriar Rose.  This is a great stamp to use with the new Blendabilities markers that SU! now has.  The markers aren't currently available to the public (I know, it's super sad) but they should be shortly.  Once they are... trust me you are going to LOVE them.  Stampin' Up! in the new catalog has an entire section of stamps that are great for coloring.

I decided to do some simple layering with this card having the base being Whisper White and then taking a sponge and some Cherry Cobbler ink around the edges.  To give it a bit more dimension and to bring out the color in the flower.  The flower is using the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities as well as the Old Olive Blendabilities.  I then used a piece of the new Flowerpot DSP (AMAZING) and sponged those edges with the Black Memento ink.  Black Memento is a new stamp pad that is now available because it needs to be used with the Blendabilities.  If you tried to use the regular Basic Black stamp pad or even the StazOn the ink from the blendabilities would run and not stay within the lines.  Just a little food for thought!:)  The greeting that i used is from another new set called Bloom with Hope, a new hostess set that is available.  You can receive this set 2 ways, you can either place an order that is at least $150 (before s/h and tax) or you can have a party, whether it be a catalog party or an actual party, and you sell at least $150 worth of product.

The item that i am showcasing today is the Sweetbriar Rose set.  It is a single stamp that comes in wood mount only.

Well that's all for today my friends.  Until next time...

Congrats!!!

Hi there all.  So, i thought that once my super awesome hubby made me my little work space i would be hard at work getting creative.  However the truth is... i am running into a bit of creative block:(  I get an idea in my head and then realize that an item that i want to use is still packed away and i am unable to get to it.  This crafting with minimal supplies is harder than i thought it was going to be... In the beginning i was just super excited to be able to get some of my things out to play with, but then... i realized how way to comfy i was in my old workspace... having everything not at my disposal is proving to be difficult... but nonetheless, i was able to put this Congrats card together the other night.

This card i used the new stamp set Kinda Eclectic. I love this set.  It comes with almost everything you see on today's card (all except the greeting).  Here is a closer look at the entire Kinda Eclectic set:

Well all that is it for today.  I hope that my creative juices begin to flow again shortly so that i can post again soon.  I appreciate you all being patient with me and this life change that I am going through...with the closing of our home taking longer than anyone anticipated it is beginning to put a damper on things, lol:)  Until next time...

I'm Back!!!!!

Well hello there all!  It has sure been awhile since the last time we saw each other.  So, a quick update as to what is happening with our move and then on to everything else.  So, things are not, or have not, been going as smoothly as we would of liked.  It is taking what seems like FOREVER to get into our new forever home.  Just seems that something always seems to come up.  But, we are holding our heads up high and knowing that all will be well in the end!  In the meantime, my in-laws have been nice enough to house us so that we are not having to rent an apartment on a month to month (particularly because there isn't such a complex in our area that will allow such a lease).  Yesterday was Father's Day, however I am really the one that received the gift.  My amazing hubby knew that i was going through major withdraws not being able to craft at all so he went and dug out some of my crafting supplies and made me my own little haven.  Man, i have to admit, i almost forgot how to do it, lol:) Going from crafting daily to not at all, it took me a minute to get my groove back.  I must admit, i still don't have it back quite yet. Plus, i don't have all my normal supplies but i am making due with what i do have and just SUPER HAPPY to be playing with my inks and paper again!!!!

So with that being said, today's card is one that i made using one of the brand new stamp sets called Nuts About You.  It is a hostess set from the new catalog.  I have taken the old catalog down here on my site and replaced it with the new one (in the right column).  I haven't been able to place an order yet (except for the pre-order) so i am SUPER SUPER excited about placing that now knowing that i can play with my new goodies when they arrive.  Here is a closer look at the entire set:

I thought that the saying "Hang In There" was just perfect for what is going on with us right now. But like i said, it will all be well and hopefully soon i will be posting pictures of my new space!!  So that is all for today friends, until next time...
