Star(sun)Burst Technique

Happy Friday friends!! Welcome to another Friday Video here at Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.

Today's share is the StarBurst Technique.  Some may have heard this technique called the SunBurst Technique.  I don't know why, but i always just call it the StarBurst.  Either way, it is a great technique and so pretty on any card.  You can alter this technique to fit any project.

Let's take a look at today's video: (yes it didn't give me a "thumbnail" but it is working this week, lol.  Just click on it and sit back, relax and enjoy)

For the card that i made in the video i used the Gingham Garden DSP. This pack of DSP is amazing. All the prints are soooo pretty.  Here is a closer look at the pack that you can purchase Here 24/7 on my on-line store:

Well all, i truly hope you enjoyed today's share.  Thanks so much for visiting and i hope you visit again SOON!!!:) Until then...

Chalkboard Easel

Hello everyone.  Welcome to another card share here at Mrs. Lincolns Inkin.

Today's card is the Chalkboard Easel.  Now, some of you may have already seen the Chalkboard Technique and this is that technique just on a chalkboard, lol.  Cute huh?  Another great thing about this cute little easel is that it can still fit into a standard size envelope.  YAY!!!

The making of this card is actually quite simple.  Start out with a piece of card stock, i chose Early Espresso, and cut it at 4 1/4" x 11" then score at 5 1/2".  That gives you a normal size card.  Then, just measure and cut from the bottom to get your "legs" of your easel.  That's it! Easy-piecey!!

For my "chalkboard" i used a piece of Basic Black, again, that i just kind of eyeballed to get the size that i wanted, and then i framed it with a piece of Very Vanilla, sponged with just a tad of the Early Espresso.  The stamp set that i used is the fabulous From My Heart set.  I heat embossed this with my Whisper White Embossing Powder and then lightly, with a paper towel, wiped over my image with some Whisper White Craft ink to give the board kind of a used/dirty look.  Here is a closer look at the featured set used today:

That's all for today.  Make sure to check back tomorrow for my Friday Video!! Until then....

Double Gate Card

Happy Hump day!!!!!

Today's share is an oldie but goody fold.  The Double Gate Card.  This fold is a classic! It's an easy... and i mean easy, fold to do and it just gives your card a little bit of a different look without it being difficult to do.

Above is the what the card looks like from the outside.  Very simple, pretty... held together with a belly band.  What is a belly band you may be asking... it is a strip of paper that is normally i cut mine about 1" to 1 1/2" in thickness and then you wrap it around your card, not making it too tight, so that the band will hold together your "gates" and keep your card closed.

For this project you are going to need piece of normal size card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  You then want to score (on the 8 1/2" side) at 2 1/8" (which is the second little mark after the 2" mark on your SU! trimmer) and then at 6 3/8" (which is 2 spots before the 6 1/2" mark).

For my DSP i used the Floral District DSP, which sadly is now retired. I made this card awhile ago and just forgot to post it, lol.  Oops!!!  The DSP that you are going to need for your flaps are cut at 2" x 5 3/8" and then the Whisper White strip that i used to put my image on, from the set Field Flowers is cut at 5" x 1 5/8" (the 5/8" mark is 2 spots after the 1/2" mark).  Then when you open your card it will look like this...

It's as simple as that!! Pretty cute huh? I love the Field Flowers stamp set. It again is an oldie but goody.  Here is a closer look at the entire set:

It a 2-time stamp set, at least that is what i call them, lol, which as we all know i LOVE!!!

Well friends, that's all for today's share.  I hope you enjoyed and you all have a splendid, blessed day!!! Until next time...

Double Tri-Fold Card

Happy Monday everyone.  Thanks for taking a moment out of your day to visit my website!!!

Today's share is the Double Tri-Fold card. I found this card on the Stampin' Connection website and loved it.  I changed the measurements a little bit because i couldn't get the measurements from the one i saw to work (i probably just wrote them down wrong) and this is what i came up with!

The card actually has a flop (shown above) that is what helps keep this adorable project closed.  Then when you open it up....

You get lots of little panels that you can journal on or just decorate.  Here is an above view...

See how it actually folds into itself so that it can stand up? Pretty neat huh?

Ok, so I am going to try and write out the directions to this project... so here it goes.

First, you are going to need to pieces of card stock cut at 6"x12".  Score both of those pieces at 6" and than score only one of the pieces at 9" as well.

Next, On the front panel of your card (the one with only 1 score mark at 6"), cut a square out of the middle with a 1 1/4" boarder all the way around.

On the back panel cut from the bottom up 3" and then across 1 1/4" inch.  This is going to be the flap that goes inside the square that you cut out on your front panel.

To adhere them together, take the back panel and lay it on the front panel, see how the one panel (on the back where it is scored at 9") rests right into the front panel? Put sticky there.  You want the one "flap" to be left out so that you can decorate it!

For your DSP you will need 2 pieces cut at 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".  Then, cut out a square with a 1 1/4" boarder all the way around.  These are going to be for your front panels.  Then, 3 pieces of DSP cut at 5 3/4" x 2 3/4" and 1 piece cut at 3" x 3 1/4"

I hope that those instructions are too confusing.  If they are and you have any questions, please just contact me and i will try and help you out the best that i can!!!!

Until next time all...

For You - Core'dinations

Hey there stampers!  Welcome to my little creative place on the web, Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'!

Today's quick share is showcasing the Core'dination card stock.  This card stock is no neat.  What it does is allows you to "sand" the top layer of the color off to reveal a different color from the bottom.  In my above card i used the Cherry Cobbler Core'dination.  With the Core'dination card stock for it to work you will also need the SU! Sanding Block.  Here is a closer look at those two items:

The Core'dinations card stock comes in each color family including the new In-Colors!!!

Also on my card today i used the new Beautifully Baroque embossing folder and the new Deco Framelit labels (pretty sure they are my new favorite framelits right now).

Well, that's all for now folks.  Hope you enjoyed.  Until next time...

Bootiful Starburst

Hello there, happy Thursday!

A quick post today showcasing the Starburst technique!  I have been obsessed with the Bootiful Occasion set lately, well mostly these adorable little rain boots! I have used them a lot lately in my posts! They are just so dang cute!!!

Here is a closer look at the set:

My card is average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" in the Tempting Turquoise.  For my Starburst i used Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie to resemble the "sun".  Then a thin strip of Basic Black to separate the burst from the Wild Wasabi that i laid down to represent the grass.

And that's it.  Pretty simple huh?  Well all, until next time...

Chalk Talk

Hello there everyone!!! Happy Tuesday!!

Today's card showcases the new Chalk Talk stamp set and coordinating die set, Chalk Talk Framelits.  This is such a fun set to play around with and experiment.  It is great for showcasing on cards, making gift tags, fun door tags... so many options.  Here is a closer look:

You can also purchase this as a one of our bundles.  You get bother the clear mount stamp set and the framelits for $37.25 (order #132730).

After I stamped my image on my Whisper White card stock with my Basic Black Ink, i decided that i wanted a boarder around my "tag". So i cut my tag out using my Big Shot machine and then cut another tag out using some Real Red card stock.  I took the tag with my image on it and freehand my cut so that my Real Red would show as a boarder.  That's it... pretty simple!!

Hope you all enjoyed today's share!!! Until next time...

Shaker Frame

Hello everyone.  Welcome to another share here at Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and Father's Day!!!

Today's share is a card that features the Shaker Frames! This is the first time that i have played with these and i have to say that the possibilities on how you can use these are endless.

With the card above i decided to use just my shaker frame in the circle shape (which is the way that they come).  Here is a closer look at the order details...

So what really is a Shaker Frame you may be asking.  Well, it is essentially a place where you can hold things such as glitter, brads, sparkles... really anything that you want and when you "shake" the card the contents that you placed in the frame will move around! Creating a nice little interactive card that anyone will enjoy "shaking":)  For my card today i decided to have Champagne Class Stampin Glitter as my shaking object!!

Well, that's all for today's share, hope you enjoyed.  Until next time...
