Pumpkin

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!  Oh... Halloween... the day that all children can dress up as scary creatures and actually look somewhat cute!  The hubby and i were so looking forward to looking forward to Halloween this year, being that it is our little ones first one, however, the weather here where we are doesn't look like it is going to be nice enough to go out and around trick-or-treating:(  Fingers crossed that the weather changes and we are able to take her out for a bit!!!

So, for today's card i made this cute Pumpkin card.  To make the front of the card, i actually ended up using my Circle Cutters and Oval Cutters from Creative Memories.

The card is actually scored at the top so that it opens like a card. Well, i hope you all enjoyed today's card and i want to leave you with this classic music video today!  What would Halloween be without..... THRILLER!!!!! Happy Halloween all and until next time.... Happy Inkin'!!

3D Christmas Tree Video

Good Saturday morning all!  Well, today before my family begin carving pumpkins... it is our little one's first Halloween/Pumpkin Carving.  I am so excited to see her face once she touches the "guts" of the pumpkin! Anywhoo, before we get started with that i wanted to share with you a video i did about the 3D Christmas Tree.  Yup, that's right, you get 2 videos this week.  I felt bad since i didn't get to post one last week:(  The video is long, so make sure to pull up your chair and get comfy!  The card is made out of a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.  To make the tree you need a piece of card stock cut at 8" x 6 3/4".  Score you piece every 1/2" starting at the 1/2" mark.  Now, for the trunk of your tree cut a piece at 2" x 3/4" and again, score at every 1/2" starting at the 1/2" mark.  To make the strips for your tree, cut your piece at 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", and you should be left with a strip measuring at 1 3/4".  On the smallest strip (1/2" strip) you are going to need to cut 4 squares off once you have accordion folded it and will need to cut 2 squares off of the 3/4" strip.

3D Christmas Tree

Good morning bloggers, happy Thursday!  So, about a week ago i had a request to see if i could make the 3D Christmas Tree that is in this years annual catalog on page 181... well, it took me a bit but i FINALLY got it figured out.  With the help of a video that i found from Frenchie!!  Thank you Frenchie!!  So, above is the front of my card.  I used the Snow Much Fun stamp set (love it) with Black Memento Ink because i wanted to, and used, Copic Markers.  The reason that i use Memento Ink when coloring with Copic is that I find that if you use SU! the ink bleeds and your color gets messy... with Memento it doesn't run.  So, when you open the card you get....

A 3D Christmas Tree!!!

Isn't that awesome?  I loved learning how to make this wonderful creation! The card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.  For the backing decoration i used the Snow Swirled stamp set along with the Dazzling Details to add some "bling" to it! Got to love the BLING!!

Well all, i hope you enjoyed today's card!  I know i enjoyed sharing it with you!  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Easel Card

Hello all!  Today's card in a "fold" if you will that has been around for quite a bit of time, it is called the Easel Card.  Here i used the Labels Framelits to make my Easel instead of just having it square.  Here is a picture from the side view...

The card is made out of a base cut at 4 1/4" x 11" (scored at 5 1/2"), so the size of a normal size card.  Therefore when it isn't standing it will fit into a standard size envelope and you can send it on it's way!

The month of October is coming to an end quicker than we can imagine... and with that comes the end of the SU! special too:(  Right now, with the purchase of any bundle that includes the Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set, you can receive the paper piercing pack set for free!! That includes all 3 templates that are offered!!

Frankie and his Mini Me

Good morning all. I am so sorry that i was scarce the last few days, it has been crazy busy.  Between doctors appointments, trying to unpack from my retreat (i finally got fully unpacked yesterday) and spending quality time with my babe(s) there are just not enough hours in the day. But, hopefully i am back on track now!!!

Today's card is a cute Frankie card that i made.  I have seen him all around over different sites and want to make him an addition to my collection.  Him and the Mummies that i made get along great, lol:)  I made a normal size card (4 1/14" x 5 1/2") and then a mini of him using the top note.  Everyone needs a little Mini Me right?

So, on another note, today in Michigan is a very big day for Football lovers such as myself. Today is the Michigan State vs. Michigan Wolverines game!! It is a game that i personally wait for on pins and needles every year.  My household, me a bit more than my hubby, are die hard Michigan State fans and, I'm sorry to say, i can't want to see them wallop on the Michigan Wolverines!  Here is the Michigan State Fight Song, just to help get you in the mood...

Well, i hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoyed today's post.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

So Thoughtful

Good morning all.  Really, really short post today...I wanted to share a Welcome card that i received from my up-line, France Martin (aka "Frenchie") after joining her team! I thought that receiving this was so sweet and something that just made me feel like the team that i had joined was the right choice for me!  She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and it warmed my heart. Just wanted to post such a thoughtful gesture!

So, I have still not put my craft room back together from the retreat that i went to over the weekend, lol. Been having snuggle time with the wee one for days:) I just can't get enough. Tonight though it is all about reorganizing and crafting. So check back tomorrow:)  However, quick i wanted to remind you of the awesome deal that is going on right now with SU! for the month of October only! YIKES!!!! See the flyer below:

Hope you all have a fantastic day and until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Sidewalk Treaters

Good morning all. Well, it is Monday again.  Time to settle back into the weekly routine.  Coming back from a crafting retreat weekend is always hard.  You get to come home and unpack all the stuff that you were soooo sure you were going to need while you were gone, when really you only used about 30% of what you brought!  However, yesterday's homecoming couldn't of been better.  This retreat weekend was my first weekend alone... without my baby girl since she has been born!  It was really hard to be away from her and i was so excited to get to her!!!!!  There was lots of snuggles and holding her when she didn't want to be held going on in the Lincoln household last night, hehe:)

Anywhoo, let's get to today' card.  So, as you can probably tell I am totally obsessed with the stamp set Googly Ghouls.  I think i have used it about a million times since i got it.  I just can't help it though, it's so adorable!!! It is available right now in the Holiday Mini Catalog, take a look HERE.  The fence and pumpkin that i used actually came from Creative Memories.  That is who was "hosting" my retreat that i go to.  I wanted to still share it though because i thought it turned out so cute.  I am really into 3D cards right now too it seems, lol:)  Here is a look at the card from the side...

I wanted the card to have the look as though they were walking down the sidewalk.  Did i achieve it?  What do you think?

Well, i hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Weekend Retreat

Good morning all!  Today is not going to be a post about a card, but i wanted to show you where i was spending my weekend.  My mom, myself  and 14 other fellow crafters are all spending 3 days and 2 nights at Creative Passions in Chesaning, MI.

When the building was purchased it was an old church and the owner, Laura, turned it into this amazing weekend retreat where you can quilt, card make, scrapbook or just sit and visit if that's your pleasure.

The whole bottom level of the building is where all the creating happens, having the bedrooms upstairs!  It is a weekend filled with creating, eating, creating, eating, taking a nap, creating and... eating:)

Well i hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Until next weekend... Happy Inkin'!!

Spooky Tri-Shutter

Good morning all and Happy Hump Day!!! So, this morning i wake up to find that somehow in the middle of the night something had happened to the left side of my face to make it so that i was all swollen.  First i thought that maybe i had been bitten but something, but that can't be the case because i have had a pain on the left side of my nose.  Almost if something was trying to "pop" through.  This morning i wake up and the whole left side of my nose, under my eye and above my lip are swollen. Kind of looks as though i have been hit in the face, without the bruising!  Hopefully it begin to go down on it's own... i hate to go to the doctor!

So today's card I am so excited about.  I had a gal ask me to come up with a fun card for her to make for her grand kids.  I was going to do the normal Tri-Shutter Card, i think that those are so fun and creative.  Whomever came up with that, props to you!! Once i got the card cut i realized that i wanted the front of my card to be more like the look of a normal card so... this is what i came up with...

This of the view of the card totally open.

And this is a closer picture of the inside.  HOW CUTE!!! Once the card was complete, because i used some "puffy's" with the little guy and the bats to give it, yes you got it... dimension, lol, i had to make a belly band to help hold it closed. The total dimensions of the card are 4" x 5 1/2", so it will fit into a standard size envelope.

Well i hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Meet The Mum Family

Good morning all and welcome to another post!  So, last week i posted a Mummy card that I had made (click HERE to see that card) using paper strips.  After i had posted it i thought that maybe Mr. Mummy needed an extended family so... I am pleased to introduce you to the Mum's!  With the Mummy, ha I mean "Mommy" and Daddy Mum's being a standard size of 4 1/4" by 5 1/2 the little wee Mum's are a 3 x 3 card.  These Mummy's are so much fun to make.  All i do is take a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, but strips of 1" x 4", sponge the sides and dabble the middle with Basic Gray Ink and then arrange them going all different ways.  On these Mummy's compared to the last one there is more "criss-crossing", which gave it a more "dimensional" look i think.  To decipher which one was Mummy and the wee little girl i added a Primrose Petals bow to their heads!

I also wanted to remind you of the special that is for the month of October only!! With as fast as the months seem to be flying by you don't want to wait too long or before you know it... POOF... the special will be gone!

Well i hope you all enjoyed today's card, and until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Thank You Cards

Hello everyone and happy Monday to you.  I am so sorry that i was MIA over the weekend. It was crazy in the Lincoln household. My little one is cutting 3 teeth right now... let's just say that sleep is now something that she doesn't think that she needs.  On top of that i am getting ready to go on my first weekend scrapbooking adventure since she was born.  She will be staying with daddy for the first time (over night and for more than a few hours) so i am trying to get all my cuddle time in that i can along with getting all my "stuff" around.  I will be demonstrating SU! for the first time there ( I have been attending this retreat 2 times a year since 2003 i think) so getting all my Make and Takes and stuff ready has taken some time as well.  But I am back and ready to share today's card(s) with you.

Last Friday i received an order from SU! that had all the new 2012-2014 In Colors in it! Man what amazing colors!!!!  Also in my box of goodies i received the stamp set My Friend. I just love it. I think that the solid flower stamp is just beautiful!!  So, i made these thank you cards for this weekend, anyone that places an order get a Thank You card with matching envelope.  The card measure's 3x3.  Check back this Friday for the video on how to make envelopes out of card stock or DSP!

Well, hope you enjoyed. Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Sweet Spinner Video

Happy Friday all. So with Friday comes another card video.  While making this video, I did MANY takes, lol.  It always seemed that something happened in the middle of it that was distracting me such as the phone ringing, rain shooting in through my window... you know all the normal stuff (hehe).  Then after trying a few times it began that i was making more and more Oopsies... where are my dimensionals?  I think this is how this is supposed to go.... oh no it's lop-sided!!!!  Thanks to my sweet hubby, whom without i would be lost, he reminded me that i am new at this... that things such as my videos are not supposed to be "perfect" but "homemade", which by today's video you can really tell.  So without further a due... here is today's video!

The dimensions that i used to build my Sweet Spinner are as follows:
Base card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
