End of the Rainbow

Hi there stampers!! So, we are approaching St. Patty's Day and I thought I would share a quick and simple card that I made to celebrate the "holiday".

This is a card that has a lot of glitter to it.  It uses the Gold Glimmer Paper (I am obsessed with all the glitter papers). This card measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and is in the Mossy Meadow.  Then comes the glitter paper!! Isn't it pretty, lol:)

I used the Over the Rainbow stamp set to create my rainbow and can you guess what I used to make my pot?  Yup, it is the Owl Builder Punch.  I just cut off the feet and then trimmed it up a bit.  Perfect size!

Then I used the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and created some gold coins from the glitter paper again.  I just love it!!  Here is a closer look at the Over the Rainbow stamp set that I used today:

So, that is it for today's quick post.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.  Don't forget to check out the:

Sturdy Box Picture Tutorial

Hi everyone.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.  Today I have a picture tutorial for you showing how to make this super sturdy card box.  This box is great size measuring 6" long x 5" tall x 4" deep.  You can store cards in here or it would be a GREAT gift box.  This is going to be somewhat of a long post so let's get started.

Here is a look at the templet that I made for myself.  I have step-by-step instructions below but just in case you wanted this too

First you are going to need the following pieces for the box:
- 2 pieces of Whisper White (or whatever color you choose for the inside of your box) cut at 10 1/2" x 8"
- 3 pieces of card stock (color of your choice, above I used Mint Macaron) cut at 12" x 10"

On the 12" x 10" piece place the 12" at the top of your Simply Scored.  Then score at 6" and 9".  Flip so that now the 10" side is at the top and score at 4" and 7" .  You are going to do this to both pieces. Now, notice that in the upper left had corner of the paper, that square is larger than the rest.  This is actually the bottom of your box.  Just keep that in mind.  Maybe put a little "x" or something in it so that you know:)

Now we are moving on to the lid.  This is your 3rd piece of 12" x 10" piece of card stock.  With the 12" side at the top of your scoring tool you are going to score at 1", 3", 9", and 11".  Turn so that now the the 10" side is at the top and score at 1", 3", 7", and 9".

Now with the Whisper White insert piece put the 10 1/2" side on top of your scoring tool and score at 3 7/8" and 9 7/8".  Flip so that the 8" side is on top and score at 4".

Now, here are the DSP pieces that you will need:

- 2 pieces at 5 3/4" x 2 3/4" (these are the body pieces)
- 2 pieces at 3 3/4"  2 3/4" (also body pieces)
- 2 pieces at 1 3/4" x 5 3/4" (lid pieces)
- 2 pieces at 1 3/4" x 3 3/4" (lid pieces)
- 1 piece at 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" (top of lid)

Ok, so now you need to fold on all your score lines on all your pieces.  We need to refer now to the templete that I made.

Once you get done cutting those three sections out your piece should look like this (remember, you are doing this to both of your scored body pieces that are cut at 12" x 10")

Now on that middle piece that is left, you want to cut about 1" off of it.  Throw that piece you cut off away.  Now, one of the three squares that you cut off, you want to take that and cut about 1" off of that as well

This is what is going to make your "hinge"

Now take your identical body pieces and but the 2 "bottom" pieces together with your liquid glue.  Liquid glue is the best to use for this type of project because it gives you time to move things around if need be but once it's set... it's set:) Here it is glued together.  See how it kind of reverse mirrors itself...

Now, put glue on the inside of your hinges and fold your walls up using your hinges to hold it together.  Don't worry that you can see any writing on the inside, that is going to get covered up by our insert piece anyway.

Now for the lid.  Fold on all your score lines.  Remove the two rectangles and square on all 4 corners.

Now take the remaining flap and angle them making sure to also "wedge" the insides too.

Put glue on he back of all the tabs and fold together.

Now, put glue on the inside of the flaps that are still open in the picture above and fold those inward to create the box and make it super sturdy.

Now for the insert fold on the score lines.  Make sure to do on both pieces of card stock that is scored.  Cut off the botton left long rectangle and then make sure to "wedge" the remaining sides.  Cut on the score line up to the 4" line and wedge that as well.

Now once you have done that to both pieces you need to attach the "hinge" to the other piece.  So that it becomes one long piece.

Put glue on all four flaps and fold over to make the insert.  Now the insert is not going to have a bottom to it.  It is just going to be 4 sides.  Take your box and put glue on the inside of the box on all 4 sides.  Then take your insert and slide it in. (note: your lid will not fit on your box without the insert in it)

Now put the lid on and there you go.  It takes a bit of time the first time you do it but then you can begin to wiz through them in no time.  These boxes are so nice.  They are super sturdy, even for paper!!

I really hope that my picture tutorial was easy to follow and that it actually made sense.  Before you head out don't forget to check out the:

30th Anniversary

Hello there to you from me here in the snowy/cold mitten state.  Boy has it been a cold/windy/snowy couple of days.  But we will get to that later.

Today's share is of an Anniversary card for those who are celebrating their 30th anniversary.  I love the glitter on this card.  But of course I love glitter anywhere, lol.  I chose to use the Mint Macaron for the base of my card and top that with a piece of the Calypso Coral after I ran it through my Big Shot and the new Confetti embossing folder that you can get from the Occasion Catalog right now.  Here is a closer look:

So, back to the snowy weather we have been having here.  Yesterday around 8am it began to snow... and blow... and snow... and blow some more.  We woke up this morning to:

It was sooo pretty outside.  Now mind you, on Tuesday it was almost 50 degrees and the sun was shining.  It really felt like Spring... then POW!!! Winter again!!!!  But, that is what you get when you live in the Mitten state... you never know:)

Well, that is all for today my friends.  Thanks so much for taking a moment to check out today's share.  Before you head out don't forget to check out the:

The World Spinner Card

Hi stampers!!  Today's share is a fun interactive card, the Spinner Card.  I posted a card like this, with a video tutorial, awhile back, you can view that HERE.

The stamp set that I used today is the Going Global set.  It is a great set to get some masculine cards out of.  That is what I was aiming for with this card.  The DSP, which is measured 4" x 5 1/4" is from the DSP pack It's My Party.  I thought it kind of looked like little airplanes:)

Here is a closer look at the Going Global stamp set:

So that is all for today my friends.  Before you head out don't forget to "Like" my Facebook Page and subscribe to my Youtube Channel .  I really appreciate the support.  Also, don't miss out on checking up on the:

Rose Garden Paper Piecing

Hi there all, welcome to my little place on the Net, Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!  Today's share is using probably my favorite stamp set right now from the Occasion Catalog, Rose Wonder.  I haven't been able to put it down lately.  You can purchase the individual stamp set or you can purchase it in a bundle and save 15%.  What a deal!!!

Today I used the technique Paper Piecing.  It is a great way to give an image a ton of dimension!!  I used the coordinating framelits and cut the rose out in Basic Black card stock.  I then took and cut it out two more times in the Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder card stock.  The leaf is actually a separate framelit and that is using the Pear Pizzaz and Cucumber Crush. I love all these colors together!

Here is a closer look at the Rose Wonder Bundle:

Hope you all enjoyed today's share.  Don't forget to check out the:

Divided Panel

Hi everyone.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.  I hope you all had a nice weekend!!

Today's share is of what I call the Divided Panel card.  It is a simple card that has a big "WOW" factor to it I think.  My base measures average size of 4 1/4" by 11" scored at 5 1/2" and is using the Whisper White.  I then chose to use another color, Wisteria Wonder and then my Basic Black which outlines my panels.  I randomly stamped my images from the Flower Shop stamp set on a piece of Whisper White measuring 3 3/4" x 5" and then cut them into 1" strips. Positioned them on my Basic Black piece (which is the same size as the Whisper White I used for my images) and then stuck them down. Poof, there is your panel card.  Pretty simple.

Here is a look at the Flower Stamp set that I used:

The awesome DSP that I used is also in the Occasion Catalog right now and is called It's My Party.  This a 12 x 12 DSP paper pack that has a ton of different designs, all totally awesome!!!

Here is a closer look at the stamp/framelit bundle that I used:

Reverse Vellum Coloring

Hi everyone. Welcome to my little space on the Net!  Today's share is a card where I used the Reverse Coloring technique on the Vellum Card Stock.  This is a fun technique, especially if you really enjoy coloring like I do.

The image that I used is from the stamp set Rose Wonder that is in the Occasion Catalog right now.  This technique is best to use on a larger image since you have to use a tool such as your stylus to color the image.  So getting into really tiny detail may be a bit tricky.

What you do is take and stamp your image on the front of your Vellum Card Stock.  Then, flip your vellum over and begin to color the image on the backside.  Once you turn it over you have this really nice pretty white image.

My card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  I then did some layering using a piece of Basic Black cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and then my vellum is cut at 3 3/4" x 5".  I chose to only the Mini Silver Brads in two of the corners and then Glue Dots in the remaining two corners since you wouldn't see those anyway.

Here is a closer look at the stamp set that I used today:

This stamp set you can also get in a bundle so that you get the amazing framelit too.  Plus, doing it that way will save you 15%!!!!  Click HERE to see that option.

Well that is it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!! Don't forget to check out:

In-Color Thank You's

Hi there stampers!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!

Today I thought I would share with you the Thank You cards that I made for my customers.  Whenever someone places an order with me (through party or online) I always give them a little hand-made something from me.  Just to say thank you.

The In-Colors this year are so awesome, I just love them.  My favorite is the Mint Macaron, it goes with sooo many other colors that SU! has to offer.  The stamp set that I used is a large greeting stamp from the stamp set Botanicals For You which is in the Sale-A-Bration catalog right now.  For every $50 that you spend (before s/h and tax) you get to choose an item from the Sale-A-Bration selection for FREE!!!  Here is a closer look at it:

Since my cards today are also highlighting on the awesome In-Colors, I thought I would give you a closer look at those too.  I decided to post pictures of the paper, since that give you the best look at the colors:)

Well that is all for today folks. Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to swing over to my Facebook page and "like" it and check out the:
