5 Minute Corner Bookmark Video

Hi there all! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin.  Sorry that i am a bit late posting the Friday video for today... we have been really busy here the last few days, but i will get to that news later.

Today's share is of the 5 Minute Corner Bookmark that i showed you earlier this week.  You can view that entire post HERE.  This is such a cute project to make for anyone that loves reading.  And it doesn't just have to go in a book... this project will fit in a magazine... Stampin' Up! catalog, lol... The one that i made in the video share i went more on the Masculine side.  Men like to read too right?

Love it!! Seriously too, i know i say it a lot (because i like simple things) but the bookmark itself takes you about 2 minutes to make... doesn't get any easier, lol:)

Now, in case you have missed it, SU! released the retiring stamps and accessory list.  There are some great products that are leaving us so make sure you stock up on them if they happen to be your favorite.  The items are only available while supplies last!!!

Ok, so moving on to some personal news/information.  So if you follow my blog regularly you know that the hubby and I decided to sell our house.  It was a tough decision since it was our first house and where a lot of our very special memories happened.  Proposal's, finding out we were becoming parents... (tearing up now, lol), however it was a decision we knew was the right one.  So... we have officially sold our home and... found a new one!! We have found the home of our dreams and a place we can see ourselves at FOREVER.  Because i tell you what, i am not moving again LOL, this has been one of the most stressful situations lol.  Now, we have only put an offer in on our dream home so please keep your fingers crossed that it is accepted.  With all of that being said.. i am having to pack up my craft room so i will not be posting regularly to my blog:(  I am going to try and post a few posts and projects and i have a couple of videos already made that i am going to try and share but will more than likely not be making any new projects.  I don't know how well i am going to do not being able to craft... makes me break into a sweat just thinking about it.  There are some things and announcements that SU! is coming up with that i will be sure to share with you so you don't miss out.  Remember, if you ever have any questions you can always email me at slincoln0203@yahoo.com.

Well all, that is it for today.  I want to thank all of you for being understanding and patient with me while moving.  Happy Inkin' and until next time...

Hello there all. Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you all had a fabulous Easter!!! We had a great day spending time with family and Emma LOVED hunting for Eggs!!! We sure did have a very blessed day!!!

Today's share is of a masculine card using Earthy tones and the Wetlands stamps set.  This card is using a simple layering with Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar and Gingham Garden DSP.  I added some texture to my card by running my smaller piece of Baked Brown Sugar with my Fancy Fan embossing folder and Big Shot.  The product that i am featuring today is the Wetland stamp set.   It is a great stamp set for masculine cards however is very versatile and can be used for more elegant cards as well.

Scallop Topper Closer Card Video

Hi all.  Happy Friday Video day everyone!!!  I have seen this card on a lot of demonstrators websites and had to give it a try.  This card is using the Scallop Topper Punch that is in the Occasions Mini right now.  This catalog is not going to be around forever... so don't wait until the last minute to order the great goodies that are in there!  I am keeping my fingers crossed that some of the products are going to be carried over to the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog that will be going live in June (just a couple months away YAY) but you never know.

This card is really neat, not only because you get to use a punch in another way other than the normal way, but it allows you to make an average size card that looks different and closes in a really neat way!!!

FUN!!!!!  Here are the dimensions in case you missed them in the video.  The card stock that you will need for the front panel (for your framing) needs to be cut at 2 1/4" x 5 1/4" with your DSP cut at 2" x 5".  The inside layers for your card need to be 5 1/4" x 4" and then 5" x 3 3/4" (this would be your Whisper White so you can write your greeting inside).  Here is a closer look at my greeting that i outlined in a color using the Artisan Label Punch

Now finally, don't forget about the Blog Candy...

Head on over to Monday's post to enter my Blog Candy and a chance to the Vivid Vases stamp set for free!!  Click HERE to head there now!!!  Thanks for checking in today.  Until next time...

Old Book Page DSP

Hi all.  Quick post today showcasing this Sympathy card.  With this card i used an old book page, from a random book that i picked up at the dollar store, inked it up with my sponges and Baked Brown Sugar ink to make it look old and... a little burnt on the sides

The base of my card is Very Vanilla and measures average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I did little rips and tears on the sides, again to make it look old!  The stamp set that i used is one of my favs!!!  It's called Field Flowers, and it is the stamp set that i am featuring today.

Now don't forget the....

As a thank you to all of you that take a few moments out of your day to take a peek at my webpage, i am giving away a free stamp set, Vivid Vases.  Click HERE to be taken to Monday's post where you can find all the details and leave your comment to be entered to win.  The blog candy lasts until Sunday!!!

From My Heart, To You!!

Hi everyone.  Happy day to you!!! Today's card is a flap card, that is what i call them, and i call them that because the top of the card, where it opens, is actually smaller than the base of the card.  Which makes me think of a flap.  The base of the card is the average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then the top of my card is 1/4" small on the 2 sides and the bottom.  Now, if you notice the very top of my card is the same size.  This is how i did it...

I started with a piece of card stock (Basic Gray) and cut it at 4 1/4" x 11".  Then i cut one of the panels so it was only 1 1/2".  Then i took another piece of Basic Gray and cut it at 4" x 5".  The one measurement has to be actually 1/2" smaller so that it can bud right up to the edge of the card.  You can see what i mean by the picture above.

I used the Watercolor Wonder DSP for this card ( I have been using this DSP a lot lately, i love it).  I love that this DSP have a very elegant gray color in it.  You don't find that very often and a lot of us, me included, think of Gray as an elegant/pretty color.  This DSP helps me to use that color in a different way.

Here is a look at the Weekly Deals beginning today.  Another 8 amazing products that are on sale for this next upcoming week!

Now don't forget to enter for the Blog candy that is going on until this Sunday.  Just a little thank you from me for reaching 40,000 views on my website!  Click HERE to be taken to Monday's post to view all the details and to enter your comment to be entered to win the Vivid Vases stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a peek.  Hope you enjoyed and until next time...

Blessed Easter with Tulip Frame

Hi-ya there everyone! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!!

Today's share is of an Easter card using the awesome Blessed Easter stamp set.  Another stamp that is available in the Occasion Mini right now.  There are only a few days left until Easter and this card is a great last minute card being that it doesn't take a long time to make but still is VERY beautiful and "springy".

My card measures average size of 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and than my Whisper White measures 1/4" smaller on all 4 sides and i ran it through my Big Shot in the Tulip Embossing Folder.  Then i used my Oval Framelits to do different sizes for the boarder and the inside of my greeting.

The item that i am showcasing today is the Blessed Easter Stamp set.  Here is a little hint... even though this is a Easter stamp, if you were to cut the rubber stamp when you first get it, then you will be able to use the flowers separately, and those are some AWESOME tulips.

Don't forget, click HERE to be taken to Monday's post to be entered into my Blog Candy for celebrating the 40,000 views of my website.  Just my little way of saying that you to all of those that take time out of their day to visit my website!!!

Vivid Vases Blog Candy

Hi there stampers!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!!

Today's share is of a card using the Vivid Vases wood mount stamp set and the Watercolor Wonder DSP.  This share is a simple card with just some simple layering.  I chose to use the colors from the DSP to make the colors of my card.  The base is average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is in the Pear Pizzazz.  I then used the Basic Gray as my backing for my DSP.  I think that the DSP is very subtle and works great!

So today is the beginning of my Blog Candy to thank you all for over 40,000 views! WOW!!!  To say thank you i wanted to do something to say how grateful i am that so many of you take time out of your busy days to visit my blog and see my daily shares and Friday Videos.  This is how it is going to work.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (i will have a link on my upcoming weekly posts, except for Saturday and Sunday, that bring you right back here) telling me your favorite thing about crafting. That's it! My blog candy will go on until Sunday, April 20th and on Monday the 21st i will announce the winner!  What will you win you ask?  Well, i will send you the stamp set that i used today, Vivid Vases.

Well that is all for today.  Hope you enjoyed and good luck with the Blog Candy.  Until next time...

Stuck in a Bunny Hole Video

Howdy there all!  Welcome to my Friday Video Tutorial of this little bunny who has seemed to have gotten himself stuck in a hole. Ut oh. I just think this card is sooo adorable.  I don't think this is the traditional type of Easter card... but i just think it is so fun and cute!!!

This card is actually quite simple to make once you get everything cut out.  It uses the Circle Framelits, Large Oval Punch, the 1/2" Circle Punch and the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  Which you can get right now in the Weekly Deals at a discounted price!!! Check it out, as well as all the other items you can get HERE.

My card measures averages size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then my top layer, both the base and the top layer are in the Baked Brown Sugar, is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".  Let's not wait, let's take a look at this weeks video:

LOVE IT!!  Don't you just love the Fringe Scissors?  Careful though, lol as you can tell a little misjudge and you cut right on through your strip HAHA.  Oh well, that's what happens with homemade projects, nothing is perfect and nothing ever perfect every time.  That is one of the reasons that i don't edit my videos (unless it is a terrible mistake or something, lol), but I'm not perfect and neither are my projects.  I like to share with you how i make things or use techniques as "me"... and with that comes boo-boo's.

Anywhoo, on Monday's post i showcased the famous Fringe Scissors. You can see the entire post HERE.  Today i am going to be showcasing the Woodgrain  background stamp which is what i used to make everything look somewhat like a tree.

I sure do hope you all enjoyed my video today.  Make sure to check back next Monday.... a little birdie has told me that there is going to be some blog candy for a hitting 40,000 views!!!  I can't believe it and want to thank everyone that takes a few minutes out of their day to stop by!!!  Well, until next time...

King of the Jungle

Hi there all!! Welcome to today's share!

I wanted to share this masculine card that i did using the Zoo Review stamp set. I love the lion in this set!!  I wanted the card to be simple, yet masculine.  I decided to do an oval frame, cut from my Oval Framelits and Big Shot, with some sponges and my image.  I made a mask for my image, i will have a simple video tutorial on Masking here shortly.

Now, it took me a little bit to decide how i wanted my lion, so i thought that i would share with you my multiple tries and how i came to the conclusion.

Here is my first attempt.  This is where i learned that i wasn't going to be able to get away with not having a mask.  I thought that since i had coloring to do i would be able to cover the background colors since my Lion was going to be a darker color.  I learned that however was not the case!  I also played around to see what it might look like if i put some grass on either side.  Didn't like that either.

Round 2.  This time i was trying to decide on color for my lion.  I first tried with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. I used the Crumb Cake for his body and, you can't really tell that well in the picture but in person it actually looks more gray than brown, which is not what i wanted at all.  Then, with his mane in Soft Suede it just didn't look right to me.  Again with the grass.. thought maybe if i added some to the bottom too it would help... nope!!

Round 3.  With this one i tried more tones in the "yellow" family.  I went with Crushed Curry and So Saffron.  In this one i used the So Saffron for his mane and not his body, i didn't like how it turned out, i thought that they should of been reversed.  Well, i did that and that is the final card that you see today.  I really like how his colors turned out!!

The base of my card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is in the Soft Suede.  My greeting is a simple Happy Birthday from the awesome Four You set.  The set that i am showcasing today is the Zoo Review set.

Now on to a look at the weekly deals that are available.  The Secret Garden framelits are one of my favorite die collections and i love the Itty Bitty Punch Pack! 2 amazing products for really good deals!!!

That is all for today my friends! Until next time...

Miss You Already!!!

Hi stampers! Welcome to my little place on the giant Web!

Today's share is a miss you card using the Really Good Greetings stamp set.  This set is a great one containing 6 great greetings!  It is the set that i am showcasing today.  It's to amazing not to share:)

I wanted to make my vocal point my saying on this card.  I didn't want to take away from my greeting so i just added a simple punch out using my Small Heart Punch.  I wanted my heart to POP a bit so i took some Silver Glimmer Paper and then colored it with my Aqua Painter pen and Melon Mambo Reinker, let it dry for a few minutes and then i stuck it to the back of my card.

It added just the right touch to the card.  I chose to use Melon Mambo card stock, the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP in the Melon Mambo color and then Basic Black for my base card.  I love Pink and Black together anyway but this card made me think of love.

Well that is all for today my friends.  Thanks for stopping by, until next time...
