Simply Sentimental

Hello stampers, welcome to Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'! I am so glad that you could visit today!!  This morning got off a little rough for me this morning... i forgot to set the alarm clock last night to wake everyone up this morning... lol oops!  Do you ever do that?  You get so used to doing something that you just kind of already think that you had and you really hadn't?  Now, i am all "rushed" feeling today. Hope that feeling goes away fast:)

For today's card i used the new stamp set, Feeling Sentimental from the SAB Brochure which you can view Here.  I wanted to do a simple card with layering (i loved the look of layering). So i used Cherry Cobbler as the base of my card then layered on top a piece of Whisper White cut  at 5" x 3 3/4", another piece of Cherry Cobbler cut at 4 1/2" x 3", and then my final layer of Whisper White cut at 4" x 2 1/2".  Once i got all my layers together, i realized that i didn't like how "white" the Whisper White was, so i took my sponge (we all know how much i love to sponge!!!) and sponged on some Sahara Sand.  I didn't want to used a piece of Sahara Sand card stock, because i still wanted a tint of the White to show through.  Plus i think think that it just gives it that "dusty" look that i think of when i think of the old phone booth.  I then heat set my image with some Black Embossing Powder and that was that!

Here is the stamp set Feeling Sentimental from the SAB brochure:

Step Card

Hello everyone, welcome!!  Today's card is a Step Card, an easy card to make that will have other's think it took you hours!!  This card takes a little scoring... a little cutting... and that is it!! Here is a view of the side:

These cards, i think, are great cards to make in a set and give as little gifts sets:)  The card will fit into a normal size envelope so it would be easy to send.  Another thing i just LOVE about this kind of card is that it is displayed so nicely with the card being made to stand up.  LOVE IT!!!

The card base is 4 1/2" x 11".  I cut my 2 side panels and bottom panel out of Floral District DSP at  7/8" x 4 1/4" and my Whisper White for the front of my card at 2 1/4" x 4 3/8".  I used my Field Flowers stamp set for my main image and then my greeting came from You Are Loved!!

Until next time all.....

A Miracle

Well, we went from having a snow/ice/rain storm yesterday to now having a 60 degree/rainy day.  This card again, thought it was perfect relating to the fact that it will be a "Miracle" if we don't all get sick from Mother Nature's confusion, lol:)  Sometimes living in Michigan is just a mess!!

Anywhoo, back to today's card.  The stamp set that i used is from the SAB brochure, click HERE for the whole brochure, and is called Bloomin' Marvelous.  Right now during SAB for every $50 you spend, before taxes and shipping/handling, you will receive a free item from the SAB brochure, like the Bloomin' Marvelous set! Who doesn't love free stuff?!?!?!?

Here is a closer look at this beautiful freebie:

I wanted my card to be simple.... elegant so i added the butterflies as my homemade DSP (we all know how much i love doing that!!!) to a piece of Whisper White cut at 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and then used my Floral Frames dies in my Big Shot cutting my flowers out in Calypso Coral and So Saffron.  I love how the Calypso Coral gives it that pop of color!

Hope you all enjoyed today and until next time...

Rainy Day!

Happy Monday everyone!!  Well, today's card pretty much sums the weather up here in good ol' Michigan today.  Last night throughout the night we were hit with snow, sleet, rain and this morning the roads were nothing but a sheer layer of ice... until you got on the main roads that is which was awesome.  We live in the country so getting to the main roads was fun:)

Now, all it is doing is raining and just being plain icky outside, so this card fits perfect for today!!!  My card measures an average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I used the Twitterpated DSP (adorable) which is cut at 3" x 3 1/2". I didn't want to center my DSP, therefore i tilted it and then placed my Night of Navy piece cut at 2" x 3 1/4" with my Whisper White with my "boot", cut at 1 3/4" x 3".

Isn't this stamp set, Bootiful Occasions just the cutest?!?!?!?

Hope you all enjoyed today's quick post!! Until next time...

Inked Embossing Folder Video

Hello there! Welcome to another Friday Video!! I wanted to show how i do this particular background.  It is made from the embossing folder, Petal A Plenty and Primrose Petals, let's take a look...

So after going back and watching my own blog, i noticed that my video did not record.  If you already tried to watch my video, you saw 58 seconds of me preparing for the video, lol, oops. I used my new camera equipment yesterday and apparently i still don't know how to work it. So sorry:( Check back tomorrow for today's video, which i will redo and tomorrow's card!

I love the way that this technique makes a background image look!!
When you want the ink to outline the images from your folder, remember, to then embossing the "smooth" side of the folder:
And if you want the ink to be inside the image to then brayer you embossing folder where the images are "puffed" up:
The card that i made using this technique is a standard size card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I used a piece of Primrose Petals as my backing piece for my image cut at 2 3/4" x 2 1/2" then topped that with a piece of Whisper White cut at 2 1/4" x 2 1/2". For my corner piece i used the Primrose Petals again, cut a strip of the size that i wanted and then banner cut the end.

Well, i hope you enjoyed today... until next time...

Daring Adventure

Hello again, welcome!!  Today's card is a little card that i thought i would/could use for someone (probably a girl going with the color scheme) that may be having a rough patch or just isn't feeling much like herself lately.  I love the way that the Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi go together. Looks amazing!!

I think that the saying in the "Daring Adventure" stamp set is just awesome.  Life truly is an daring adventure isn't it? I am always so thankful and blessed that i am given yet another day to see what adventures are set out for me!

For the background of my card i used the new Honeycomb embossing folder that is available now in the Spring Catalog, I just love it, on a piece of Melon Mambo, measured at 5 1/4" x 4".  For my Wild Wasabi piece, measured at 4" x 1 1/2", i used my Edgelits die and my Big Shot to give the edge a little something. The Wisteria Wonder flowers are using the Build A Blossom stamp set and matching punch... as well as the Pumpkin Pie circle in the middle. However that is punched out with the 1" Circle Punch.

So, did we all go crazy over the awesome SAB products that were announced yesterday? Aren't they great?!?!?!? SU! released a new brochure, that is a ton easier to read.  Take a look:
Don't forget that you can always check out the brochure located on the right had side of my blog!! What i like about this brochure too is i think that it is more clear as to what items are available through SAB that are normally in the annual catalog such as the Quint-Essential Flower, Diagonal Plate for the Simply Scored and those items!  Well, friends, i hope you all enjoyed today and until next time...

Valentine Window Card & SAB Kick-Off!!

Well hello there.  Today's card is a Valentine's Day card that i made using the window sheet piece that came out of the Candlelight Christmas specialty paper pack.  If you are anything like me, i sometimes find it hard to find other uses for products that have a specific label on them like Christmas, Halloween... things of that nature.  I saw this paper though and it was like a light bulb went off:)

I wanted my card to be simple, not to take away from the window front by having a lot going on around it.  The base of my card is measured at 5" x 5". There is just one piece of Real Red that i used as my base... I let the flap on my front take the place of the actual card (if that makes sense, lol).  My inside piece that i used for my greeting is measured at 3" x 3". I then used a piece of Whisper White cut at 1" x 3 1/2", scored it in half and that is what i used as my "bender" piece so that my specialty paper could be lifted up and then put back down.  The specialty paper piece is measured at 3 1/2" x 4".  Once that was done i realized i didn't like seeing the Whisper White from underneath the window piece, so i cut a piece of Real Red at 1" x 3 1/2", ran it through my Scallop Edge Punch and then placed it on top.  A nice little simple Valentine for that special someone!!

Now, the big news!!! Do you know what today is???? That's right, it's the kick-off to Sale-A-Bration, or better known as SAB!!! YAY!!!!

Owl Punch Art for Valentines

Happy Monday!! A quick post today on a Valentines card! I got the owl punch out idea from one of my favorite blogs, "Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie".  She did a great video tutorial HERE.  I decided to put 2 owls on my card, perched up on a tree ... with the thought process that this may be the card that my hubby gets from our daughter.  Granted, she is still too young to know what is going on but i still think that the idea is cute:)

I used the new Cloudy Day Embossing folder for the sky and then the Fancy Fan Embossing folder for the owl's "feathers".  Oh, what is that texture on the tree that i used?  Well, that is a sneak peek of the new Vine Street Embossing Folder that will be available in the new Sale-A-Bration brochure that will be available soon!! I can't wait!!

I used the stamp set, My Little Valentine that is available right now through the Valentines Day Special, but the offer ends today!! Make sure not to miss out.. Click Here to place your order today!!!

I wanted to showcase the Fancy Fan embossing folder today. This folder is soooo versatile and i find myself reaching for it all the time.

Whether it be for an elegant card or making feathers for an owl, this embossing folder is a must have.

Well all, until next time....

Flu Remedies- Hand Sanitizer Part 1 of 2

Happy Friday everyone, thanks for visiting today!!  I don't know about you, but it seems that everyone i know has had the flu either themselves or in their household (knock on wood it hasn't hit our family), so i thought that i would show a cute little way to show someone that you care by giving them a little gift of....

Hand Sanitizer!!  What better way to say "feel better soon" then a nice reminder to get all those icky germs off their hands, lol:)  This little holder is so simple to make, really... let's take a look...

Here is a shot from the side so that you can see again how it closes:

You're going to have to do some scoring with either your paper trimmer (don't forget the light gray slider is for scoring. Those measurements for your 2" x 12" strip of card stock are; 1", 2 1/4", 3 1/4", 4 1/2", 7 3/4", and 9".  To make my spot to hold my sanitizer i used the 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch.  For today's featured set i wanted to showcase the Word Play (1 of 2) set:
Now, as you may remember that yesterday i had mentioned that this was a 2 part video week (YAY), here is a reminder of what Saturday's video is going to be of...

I hope you all enjoyed and i hope to see you back tomorrow. Until then...

Up Line Challenge

So, a little tid-bit about me. I love owls, which is really weird because i am terrified of birds, lol:) So i guess let me rephrase that, i love fake owls, lol:) The ones that you see on patterned or cute little decorations... those are the ones that i can't get enough of!!  So it only makes sense that the Owl Punch from SU! is one of my favorite punches and go to items!!

Every month my upline sends us some materials that we have to use in one of our creations.  We send them back to her and then our names our put into a drawing. The name that is drawn gets all of the creations that were sent in for that month! I love doing the challenges! Not only does it maybe give me a chance to use a product that i don't yet have, but if i were to ever win, i would love to get all those amazing creations!! Fingers crossed for me!!

So this is my challenge card... with my owls!! One of the materials that was included in this months "kit" was a piece of DSP from the new set, More Amore! How cute is this DSP set? I just love it!! I used that as my backing piece on a normal 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" care and then made a binding looking boarder piece for the side. I used the Scallop Trim Boarder Punch to add to the edge of the piece, just so it wasn't "flat".    Then i punched out my owls... giving the boy owl a look like he is just so strickin' by the beautiful lady owl. Awe:)

Here is a look at the DSP which is available right now in the Spring Catalog. You can view that HERE
Well all, i hope that you enjoyed today's post.  I hope to see you back here tomorrow for another Friday Video. I am excited about tomorrow's video. For one, the project that i am making tomorrow is a 2 parter... maybe a video on Saturday is in the future too... oooooo:) And also, i got some new camera equipment so i am anxious to use it (hopefully) for tomorrow's video! Until next time...

Simple Valentine

Good morning all! What a wonderful day isn't it?!?!? With Valentines Day right around the corner i thought it was about time to start posting some "festive" cards:) For my first Valentines card i wanted it to be simple... something that if your children wanted to let's say.. make them, or a smaller version for their class, they could.  So i didn't want to make it too over the top!:)

I used the new stamp set that is available for a limited time, only until January 21st, called My Little Valentine.
Interested in taking advantage of these adorable little sets?  Visit me on the SU! Order site HERE and place your order today!!
Here is a look at the card from the side, showing that it is actually "puffed" up a bit with the greetings sunk inside the 1 1/4" Scallop Circles.  This set is just so tiny and so cute! There are numerous things that you could do with it... not only to use for Valentines day!

Well i hope you all enjoyed today's card.  Until next time...
