To You From Me

Hello friends.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.  I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas.  Here at the Lincoln house we sure did.  Santa came and sure did spoil our little one and us too.  It was a time full of family, laughter, and memory making!  I am sad that it is over:(  Now I am counting down until next year:)

The last few days, Christmas included, here in our part of the mitten state it has been sunny and fairly warm... not really feeling a lot like Christmas but more like the beginning of Spring.  Therefore I have been finding myself reaching for Spring colors and thinking about flowers and singing birds... so today I am posting a card that reminds me of Spring.

The base of my card is average size of 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" and is in Blackberry Bliss.  I then took a piece of Whisper White and cut it at 4" x 5 1/4".  I then used Smokey Slate and Pink Pirouette Ink to make the background.  I then took the Blackberry Bliss ink and put a "glob" in the middle to bring out my flower:)

I used the new stamp set and coordinating punch called Petal Potpourri.  It isn't available until January in the new Spring Catalog so i can't show you the whole set but trust me you will love it!  The set that i am showcasing today is the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set that i used for the background...

That is all for today friends but before you head out make sure to take a second a check out the Weekly Deals and the Year End Blowout deals.  Some awesome deals available!!!  Thanks for stopping by friends.  Until next time...

Last Minute Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.  So last year I posted a last minute gift card holder so I thought it was only appropriate to post one again this year.  Let's face it... we all have those last minute gifts that we forgot to get or wrap... or misplaced until the last minute.  This one is a cute, simple way to give those gift cards.

I saw this design on Dawn Griffith's site and just had to make one (or 20 lol).  I did change mine up a bit, which you will see and i will explain a little later on.  I thought that since it wasn't Friday and I didn't really have time to do a video i would do a picture tutorial for you today.  So, here we go...

First what you are going to need is a piece of card stock or DSP cut at 11" x 4".

You are then going to need 3 pieces of card stock.  The largest cut at 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (Basic Black), the middle piece cut at 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (Old Olive), and then the smallest piece cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" (Lost Lagoon).

Now this is where i changed mine up a bit... i added 2 more pieces.  I added a backing piece that my entire gift card holder is going to adhere to.  This is cut at 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" (Basic Gray) and then i added an inside piece.  This is cut at 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" (White White).

To Begin making your gift card holder you are going to need to score your base piece (the 11" x 4" piece) at 4" and 8".

Next you are going to need to line up the top score mark to the bottom point on your farthest right flap... and then you are going to cut.

Now take your Red Sticky and place at the bottom of your triangle that you just made so that it makes the pouch to place your gift card.  Make sure to only put it on the bottom though.

Then fold over and close.

Assemble your top layering pieces and place on the front of your gift card holder.  Then place your entire holder on your backing piece.  I suggest doing this if you are doing DSP as your base... it gives it a little bit more stability.  Then place your extra Whisper White piece on the inside left panel of your holder.

Pretty simple huh?  Here is a look at the finished product that i made while doing the picture tutorial:)

Well that is all for today my friends.  Sure hope you enjoyed and if i don't see you again until after the holiday, I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!!!! Until next time...

Someone Swell!!!

Hi everyone!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share.  Today's card is showcasing some of the new items that are going to be available in the new Spring Catalog that will be launching January 5th (i think, hehe).

The items from the new catalog that i am LOVING are the Chalkboard paper and the Colorbox Chalk ink.  They are awesome!  They stay wet longer too, so if you choose you can heat set them to give them a bit of a shine.

The stamp set too is great because it is a large image... right now I am really into large images.  I like how they are sayings too.  You're going to love the new sets in the catalog.  Well quick post for today friends.  Until next time...

Happy Birthday - Unedited Video

Hi all.  Happy Friday!!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card/video share.  Yup that's right... it's Friday and I actually have a video for you:)

Today's card is a birthday card because as you may know after the holiday's it is birthday central with my family.  Today's card I am using some products that are from the new Spring Catalog that will be available the beginning of January.  It's a great catalog that has a ton of great new products.

Today's video is a bit.... LOL different today:)  I did the video from start to finish without any editing.  Now I normally start the video over if I make a big mistake... this time i just went with the flow and didn't really have a "plan" to the card that i was making.  I have been asked how I come up with my cards and/or ideas and I wanted to try and show you my process.

Let's take a look:)

The product that I am showcasing today is the stamp set that i used today, Birthday Surprise.

Now before you head out don't forget to check out the awesome Weekly Deals (the featured stamp set Birthday Surprise is one of the items is on the Weekly Deals right now) and the Year End Closeout Sale.  Some of the items are up to 80% off!!! OH MY!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today friends!! Until next time...

Joy to the Woods

Hi all stampers/crafters!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share!!

Today's card is featuring my new Lawn Fawn stamp set that is called Joy to the Woods! It's an awesome set that has a coordinating die set.  With Christmas next week, I haven't been focusing so much on Christmas cards... being that there isn't much time to make them and still get them out but i wanted to make sure that I shared this one with you before the holiday season is over:(  Urg... makes me so sad to even utter those words:(

Also on today's card, for the background, i used the new Colorbox Chalk in that is going to be available in the new SU! Spring Catalog (amazing catalog by the way).  I used my Star of the Show stamp set by Alley Way and the new Yellow Chalk Ink and then heat embossed it.  The nice things with the chalk inks is that they are pigment inks, so they stay wet for a few minutes which allows you to heat set them!!! AWESOME!! Then i sponged my background with my Distress Ink, Evergreen Bough.

I wanted the only "color" to by on my card was the background and my fox.  I wanted him to pop and really be the vocal point of the card.  Therefore, i used my Cool Grey Copic marker and just feathered on the tree to give it just a hint of depth and then did the same thing under my fox.  I didn't want him to just look like he was floating on the snowbank:)

Here is a closer look at the stamp/die set that i used today:

Well that is all for today my friends! Thanks so much for visiting today.  Hope you swing by again soon! Until next time...

Winter Window Shaker Card

Hi all! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share!  Today's card is a Winder Window Shaker Card.  It is a normal size card but is a shaker card as well.  It was sooo much fun to make.

The base of my card measures normal size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is using Stampin' Up! Lost Lagoon card stock.  I then cut a window out of my Lost Lagoon that measured 1/4" in all the way around, this game me a place for my shaker frame.

I then decorated my card using a piece of DSP made by Lawn Fawn and then a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and free handed the shapes of a few trees.  I then placed the white piece on my Woodgrain Stampin' Up! stamp with my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and used my Copic markers to color it in.

When you have the design the way that you want it, place dimensionals all the way around your frame, then place your "shakers" on base of your card and then seal them in.  I am hoping to do a video on this but... let's be honest, i haven't been the best at video's lately.  With that being said.... like 3 weeks ago i did a card called Double Embossing, i said that i was going to try and get a video posted and well... just didn't get around to it.  Well, i thought i would finally post it today;)  Even though it is not what the card share is today... now you get kind of a 2 in 1:)

Well friends, that is all for today.  Until next time my friends,

Christmas Smore's

Hi everyone.  Long time no hear from me:) LOL:)  I have been super busy getting around for the holiday season.  First was Thanksgiving.  The hubby and I hosted the feast at our house this year (since it was our first Thanksgiving in our new home) and it was a total success.  Full of lots of good food, laughter, and memory making!!!

Then, it was on to Black Friday!!! Hubby and I got up at 3am and headed out.  I must say though, i was a little disappointed, hubby and I always do Black Friday however this year hardly any of the stores were open early.  Mostly because they were all open on Thanksgiving.  Now just my personal opinion... I think that shopping the night of Thanksgiving is just... well for me just wrong, lol:) I don't think i will ever shop on that family holiday:)  Anyway, once we did reach the stores that were open we found some AMAZING deals!! But we will get to that a little later:)

Now, on to today's card share.  It's a simple Christmas card using the Lawn Fawn stamp set called Love You S'More!!! OMGoodness i am in love with this set! It comes with coordinating dies too, which is another thing that i LOVE!!!

The background of the scene is using the Lovely As A Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up! It's an oldie but goodie and a set that is an all time favorite of mine.  It is also the item that i am showcasing today:

To add a little bit more "sparkle" i used the Wink of Stella pen in Clear on the fire flames.  This gives it some shimmer and makes it look like it is really "glowing" i think.  I did this after I colored my flames with some Copic markers.  I used some brown Copic for my little squirrel as well!

So, now i have to share with you the amazing deal that the hubby found on Black Friday!  So, as some of you may know I LOVE the Christmas season and all the decorations and music.. i just love everything about it! I am the person that has been listening to Christmas since November 1st, lol:)  Anywhoo, when we moved into our new house the first thing that i noticed was the vaulted ceilings (how could you not right).  I instantly said "do you know how big of a Christmas Tree we can get?"  Well, that is exactly what the hubby got me:)

A 12 foot shimmery, glittery Christmas tree that touches the ceiling! OMGoodness, the first night we got it all i did was stare at it in amazement!  I don't think i am ever taking it down, haha:)

Alright all, well thank you so much for stopping by today. That is all for today. Until next time...

Double Embossing

Hi all!  Thanks for joining me today!

Today's share is of a card that I made a little bit ago for a friends birthday and I forgot to post it.  So, i thought i would share it with you today.  This card uses the Double Embossing technique.  I am hoping to get a video done so i can share it with you this Friday (fingers crossed, lol).

The items that i used on today's share are all by Stampin' Up!.  The base of my card is in Basic Black and measure average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then topped that with a piece of Strawberry Slush cut at 4" x 5 1/4".  I then used my Banner framlits and the 2013-2015 In Color Paper Pack for my background piece!

To add a little something on the side i used the Star Boarder Punch. I love this punch!!!!  For my greeting i used Amazing Birthday and then did my Double Embossing.  I chose to use Whisper White and Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder (Wild Wasabi is now retired).  I love the colors of Green and White together (and not just because I am a HUGE Michigan State fan, lol)

To finish it off i used my Mini Banner punch and added those along the side.  I really like how the Mini Banner and the Star punch accent each other on this card.

The items that i am showcasing today are the Whisper White, Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool:

Before you take off, don't forget to check out the new Weekly Deals that were announced today and the Clearance Rack.  Thanks again for swinging by today!! Until next time...

Let is Snow!!!

Hi there my crafty friends! Thank you for stopping by Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' today!!!

Here in the mitten state today we have been getting pounded with the snow (which i am LOVING) so i thought i would post another Christmas card today that features a snowman ...since you make them with snow lol.

The stamp set that i used today is Build a Snowman by Simon Says Stamp.  This set is awesome!!! It comes with a matching die set which has a die for each stamp  that is in the set!! It's amazing!!!

For my card i used a piece of Whisper White by Stampin' Up! and then used a piece of DSP that came from the Snow Day Collection Kit by Lawn Fawn.  This kit comes with some great DSP, stickers and a few embellishments. I just thought that the paper was adorable and knew it needed to be part of my collection.

One of my favorite new products is the Wink of Stella pens.  This is a pen where you can wipe on either a clear gloss, which is what i used on this cute little fellows scarf, or you can get a variety of colors.

It just gives it that nice little shimmery touch!! All about the glitter and shimmer:)

Well, thanks again so much for stopping by!! Until next time friends...
