Deco Label Gate Card

Hello stampers!! Happy Monday and welcome to Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'!!

Today's share is actually a card that you may remember from a few weeks ago. I showed it for the first time in my Fun Fold Gate Card with Sara video that i showed a couple weeks ago.  This card i just love so i wanted to showcase if for you today!

This card opens and closes just like the other gate card, i used the Deco Label Frames on each of the cards.  You can see the previous Fun Fold Gate Card HERE.

The favorite part of this card for me is the leaf. I love how it turned out!! I used the Gently Falling stamp set and then used my Sponge Daubers with a few different colors... Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler and then inked up the images.  I decided that i wanted my leaf to have dimension (of course) so i stamped it, inked it and cut it out twice so that i could layer them atop each other.

Also for my card i used the stamp set Truly Grateful on the front and on the inside of my card.  It is a great set!! Here is a closer look at both the sets that I used today:

Well, quick post for today friends.  I hope you enjoyed and until next time...

5 Days of Halloween, Day 4

Hi there all!!! Welcome to Day 4 of my 5 Days of Halloween.

Today's project is a cute Owl bag that could be used for a youngsters Tick-or-treat bag, a school Halloween party goody bag, an at home Halloween goody bag... the possibilities are endless.  This project today uses minimal products which makes it easy to make in a large quantity being that it only takes a few moments to assemble.

When you open it up, by lifting the owls head up that is where you can keep all of your goodies.  The item that i am showcasing today that i used on my project are the Circle Framelits.  All the Framelits are a great addition to any crafters treasures.  Here is a closer look:

I used the largest circle, as i am sure you can tell, lol, for the belly of my owl.  My Eyes are made of the smallest 3 circles and then layered with Basic Black and Whisper White.  For a little additional texture i ran my circles (for the belly) through my Big Shot using my Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  This to me looks a little like feathers.

Now don't forget all, this week I am hosting a Blog Candy. You have today and tomorrow still to enter!!!  Here is how it is going to work, this Blog Candy is going to be going on the length of my 5 Days of Halloween.  All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of MONDAYS POST sharing with me your favorite Halloween costume that you have ever worn.  That's it! I will post a special post on Saturday announcing the winner of this Toxic Treat Wood Mount stamp set:

Until next time friends...

5 Days of Halloween - Day 3

Hello stampers.  Welcome to Day 3 of Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' 5 Days of Halloween!!!

Today's share is of a project that you can make for a great Halloween home decor piece using  only a frame and a sheet of DSP!  Who said paper was only for cards?

This piece here is using the...yes you guessed it... Witches Brew DSP pack. I can't tell you enough how much i love this DSP! Today's post i have some step by step instructions on how i created this project! It is really simple and a great way to showcase some of your creations in your home decor!

First what I did was I cut a small strip measuring approximately 3/4" x 12".

I then used my snail and adhered it to the top of my cut out (which for some reason i didn't take a picture of, but this is the top of a whole 12" x 12" piece that comes in the pack).

I then cut out the "Devil's Food Cake" section (this is the bottom left over of the 12" x 12" that the Witches Candy Shoppe, which is the main greeting for our frame) using my Paper Trimmer.

I then took that Devil's Food Cake piece, popped it up on some Dimensionals and layered it atop my main piece in the upper left hand corner.

Then i placed my project in my frame.  And that's it folks, i told you it was really quite simple:)  Pretty cute huh?  In case you haven't seen it... here is a closer look at the Witches Brew DSP pack!

Don't forget, that this week Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' is hosting a Blog Candy.

Here is how it is going to work, this Blog Candy is going to be going on for the next 5 days, the length of my 5 Days of Halloween.  All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of MONDAYS POST sharing with me your favorite Halloween costume that you have ever worn.  That's it! 5 Days of Halloween - Day 2

Hello stampers... Happy Tuesday to you all!!!

Today is day 2 of my 5 Days of Halloween here at Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'.  I am excited to share this card with you today because it is featuring a new stamp set that i just received called Halloween Bash.  The set is currently in the Holiday Mini right now which you can view HERE.  I just think the saying is so cute!!  Here is a closer look at the entire set:

My card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  I used a piece of Witches Brew DSP, also available right now in the Holiday Mini, for my backing piece which measures 4" x 5 1/4".  I added two strips of Witches Brew DSP measured at 3/4" x 4" to give it something else in the background.  Then, my Basic Black and Whisper White is what holds my greeting.

I added my little bat friend from the set Halloween Hello which i cut out of Whisper White card stock, stamped with StazOn ink. I popped him up on some dimensionals and he is guarding the greeting, lol:)

Now, don't forget that all of this week i am hosting a blog candy where you could win the awesome, retired wood mount stamp set Toxic Treats.

So here is how it is going to work, this Blog Candy is going to be going on for the next 5 days, the length of my 5 Days of Halloween.  All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of MONDAYS POST sharing with me your favorite Halloween costume that you have ever worn.  That's it! 5 Days of Halloween - Day 1 plus Blog Candy

Hello stampers!!!! Welcome to another Monday!!

This week i am going to be featuring a Halloween card every day for the next 5 days.  Halloween is right around the corner (along with all the other holidays) and though Halloween may not be a holiday that you traditionally think about sending out cards for there is always someone that needs a little "trick-or-treat" in their mailbox right?

Today's share is one that i made using some punches and my Chevron embossing folder.  I don't know why but this folder just screams Halloween to me!!!  My card measures average size of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and i chose the Wild Wasabi card stock.  For my background i used my Chevron Folder with a piece of Basic Black card stock, inked up my Chevron folder with VersaMark ink, ran it through my Big Shot and then heat embossed my newly embossed Chevron design with my Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.

Do you recognize this little guy?  Yup, i used my Owl Builder Punch for my ghost.  Just snipped off his feet (don't worry, it didn't hurt, lol) and then added some eyes.  That simple.

For my pumpkin i used my 1 3/4" Circle Punch and my Large Oval Punch.  Ran my pieces of Pumpkin Pie card stock through my Big Shot using my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to give them their "skin".  The item that i want to showcase today is the Halloween Hello stamp set, which is what i used for my greeting today.  Here is a closer look:

Now, on to some free stuff!! Yay!!! I feel the urge to host another Blog Candy!!!

So here is how it is going to work, this Blog Candy is going to be going on for the next 5 days, the length of my 5 Days of Halloween.  All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of this post sharing with me your favorite Halloween costume that you have ever worn.  That's it! I will post a special post on Saturday announcing the winner of this:

A brand new, never opened (or mounted) wood mount retired Toxic Treat stamp set!

Fun Fold Gate Card Video

Hello stampers, Happy Friday!!!

Today is Friday Video day here at Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'.  If your new to my blog first off WELCOME and secondly Friday is very special here. Every Friday i post a video tutorial on a project that i have made with complete step-by-step instructions on how you too can make it!!

For today's share i chose this fun and actually quite simple Fun Fold Gate Card (or at least that is the name i have given it!!) .

Let's go ahead and take a look shall we?

For this project you are going to need your base card cut at 4 1/4" x 11" then you are going to need to score it (going the long way) at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4". your panels should then, when folded, line up perfectly in the middle.  For the DSP on the panels, each piece of DSP should measure 2 1/2" x 4".  And those are your measurements for this project.

I mentioned in the video today how i am IN LOVE with the Witches Brew DSP paper pack. It is sooooo awesome.  It is available right now in the Holiday Mini. To view that entire catalog click HERE.  This DSP pack is the product that i am showcasing today.  Here is a closer look:

LOVE IT!!!  That's all for today all! I hope you enjoyed and got a little inspired to go and play with some paper and ink. ;)  Until next time...

Team Sketch #3

Hello stampers. Happy Thursday!!!

Today's share is for the team sketch that my up-line puts on every month. It is a great way for some to leave their comfort zone and come up with a new and creative idea! I love the team sketches!!!  Plus, who doesn't like to follow some sort of pattern every now and then right?

Here is the sketch that we had to go by.  This month is was created again by yours truly!!!
I wanted the sketch to be simple, not a whole lot to it... let the imagination run free!!!  With my creation i changed the place of the sentiment... i sometimes have a hard time following the directions to a tee, lol:)

I started my project with my basic card base in the Very Vanilla at 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  I then used a piece of Soft Suede card stock, cut at 4" x 5 1/4", making sure that my Very Vanilla made as a boarder.  Then for my sectionals, i used Very Vanilla again and cut them all at 3" x 4 1/2". Then just spaced them apart until i got the desired "gap" that i wanted.  And that's it.  There are the basic direction of the card:)  A little tip though for the stamping... to make sure all your images line up right stamp on your piece of card stock first, and then make your cuts.

For today's project i used the Gently Falling set (i told you i LOVE that set).  Here is a closer look at it:

Well, that is it for today everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time...
