Gift Card Video

Happy Friday all and welcome back to my blog and my Friday Video!  Today's card is a gift card holder. You can never have enough ways to present someone with a gift card throughout the holidays or any occasion for that matter.
Aren't these just adorable.  Gather a piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4" x 10 3/4" (for your base) and score it at 4 1/4" and 8 3/4". You will need a piece of DSP cut at 4" x 4" and a piece cut at 1 3/4" x 4".  For the tab pieces cut a "backer" piece as i like to call it at 2 5/8" x 2 1/8".

Today's featured product that i am using is the Pennant Parade stamp set with the matching Petite Pennants Builder Punch. I have been using these two products a lot this holiday season. They are just so much fun to use and make so many wonderful decorations for your cards!!

Well i hope you all enjoyed today's card and video! Until next time...

Box Card

Hello all my blogger friends, welcome back:)  I am really excited about today's card because it combines two things that i love to make while paper crafting.  First, a card, isn't this card beautiful? I love the Floral District DSP. I think that it is just so bright and cheery!!  When you look at this card it just looks like a standard card right, which from this way it is measuring at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", but when you open the card up....

It is actually a box on the inside! So this way whomever is getting the card will receive a special little treat when they open it that they weren't expecting! Isn't that neat? I just love little extras like that!

For today's feature product i wanted to highlight on the Floral District DSP, it is just such an amazing pack!!

It is just bright and just plain wonderful!!!!  Well all, i hope you enjoyed today's card/box, hehe.  Until next time...

Masculine Tree

Hello all!  Quick post today on this masculine tree card that i did.  I always seem to steer away from making "masculine" cards and need to get better about that, so that is my goal for the up coming weeks is to make more masculine cards:)

This card is standard size measuring at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  For the colored backing piece, measured at 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" i used my Tim Holtz foam applicators and colored a piece of Whisper White card stock to make it the color that i wanted it.  In this case i used the Forest Moss Distress Ink (I love distress inks!!!).  That is also the color that i used to stamp the tree, on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring at 3" x 4".  Isn't that tree amazing? I just love it! It is so full and beautiful.  It is from the set Christmas Lodge, which is the stamp set that i am featuring today, great stamps in this set!!

Don't forget that today is the last day for the Online Extravaganza!! You can get products for up to 50% off!!!!

Shutter Card

Good morning stampers, happy Tuesday!!  Today i wanted to show you a Shutter Card that i made highlighting on 2 products.  The  Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and the Holiday Ornament Framelits!  These products are sooo wonderful.  Using those products i was able to make the 3D ornament that you see on the font of the card.  Above is what the card looks like when it is closed... but when you open it up....

You get this amazing card that is hidden inside. Isn't that awesome?!?!?!? I just love it!!  This card when closed measures around 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", so it fits in a standard size envelope.

First what you need to do to make that card is cut a piece of card stock measuring at 12" x 5 1/2" inches.

Next you are going to have to do some scoring.  On the 12" side you want to score at 2", 4", 8", and 10" and on the 5 1/2" side you want to score at 2 1/2" and 7".

Now take your card stock and place it in your cutter going up and down.  Place it at the 1 1/2" mark and cut from the top score line down to the bottom score line.

To fold your card you need to do an "in and out" fold as i like to call it.  Make sure to reinforce your score lines!!!!

Your card should now look like this

Once you have that done it is time to decorate your card.  The sizes of the DSP that i cut for today's card are below the diagram

And that is how to make the Shutter Card, pretty neat huh?  Looks complicated when you open it but once you get to making it, it actually is quite easy.  Today's products that i wanted to highlight on are the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and the Holiday Ornament Framlits.  You can find them right now in the Holiday Mini HERE

Well i hope you enjoyed today's card and short written tutorial.  Until next time....

Thanksgiving Scarecrow

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Wow, Thanksgiving already! Wasn't it just Halloween yesterday?!?!? This year seems that it is just flying by.  This morning i woke up and began doing my cooking for what i need to take to our Thanksgiving dinner this year.  We are having it over at my in-laws this year and i am so excited to see family that is in from New York!

So today's card is a super cute scarecrow!  Isn't he adorable? He sure isn't sitting in a garden chasing off the crows, he has made friends with one and it allowing it to rest on his hat:)  At least that is my story!

I attached my scarecrow to a box, this way i could make him useful during the festivities of the day.  it would be so cute to put your silverware and napkin folded up next to everyone's plates wouldn't it?  Well, if you didn't have about 100 people coming to dinner that is:)

So i was thinking of trying something new at the end of each of my blogs, i want to showcase the main supplies that i used to come up with my creation, whether it be a stamp set, color combo, or tool (like the Big Shot). So what i am going to try to do is have a picture of the "Featured Item" at the end of each post that i do. I hope that this way it will allow some, that are not familiar with the stamp set to see the entire thing or maybe with the color combos inspire an idea for someone else.  So, today's featured item(s) are....

The Big Shot and the Top Note Die!  These two items are simply amazing and, in my opinion, a must have for your crafting collection!

I want to leave you now with a little clip of a tradition in my family, the hubby and I watch this every year! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless!! Until next time...

Snowfolk

Well, at least here in Michigan where I am at it doesn't feel like I should be making snowman cards right now.  It currently is reaching the upper 50's lower 60's and the sunshine is bright! Normally this time of year it is chilly and beginning to feel more like the Holiday Season.  This year, it is taking me a bit more to "feel" it with this crazy weather that we are having.  Nonetheless, tis the season and i want to make a snowman. If not for real than on paper, lol:)

Today's card is a standard size card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I used a piece of DSP from the Festival of Prints package that is still available right now in the Holiday Mini.  The paper that i used for the Snow is the wonderful Silver Glitter paper! I just love using this, especially around the holidays!!

So, did you take advantage of the Online Extravaganza yesterday?  I hope so, there were some awesome deals only available yesterday. Christmas Box

Ahh, Monday again for for most of us a short work week:)  Many are beginning their preparations for Thanksgiving! I just love this time of year, the smell of homemade goodness coming from the kitchen, the sound of laughter of family and friends filling the house. It is just a wonderful time of year!

For today's post I wanted to show you a Christmas Box that i saw on the SU! Demo's site, Stampin' Connection and decided to try and do it myself.  I love little boxes that can carry a surprise in them! They are so much fun to make and i love that, with any paper crafting project, all you need to do is change the paper and you can use it for any type of occasion!  For the front of my box i decorated it with a simple paper bow that i made...

These bows are so AWESOME i think!  Made with the Festival of Prints DSP paper, available now in the Holiday Mini catalog, a brad and a few strips of paper... and poof! You have a paper bow!  When you open the box up it holds a gift card inside...

In the bottom of the box there is room that you could actually put another small gift in there if you wanted.  The options are endless:)!!!  Well, that is all i have for today, i hope you all enjoyed! Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Birthday Girl

Hello everyone.  Quick post today!  So as we know because i am sure that i mentioned it about 20 million times, this is one of the birthday cards that i made for my daughter who just celebrated her 1st Birthday.  Yes you heard me right... one of the many that i created for her.  I was able to be 100% happy with the cards when i was done with them, lol:) Something always bothered me about them, lol.  With this one, i didn't like the fact that i did't put "1st" on it anywhere.

This is just a standard size card measuring at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I used a Penny Black stamp set and Copic markers to color them in.  I wasn't planning on posting these cards so i didnt make up a supply list of what i used. Sorry!!:( I did some paper piecing too like on her bows and on the cake to give it a little "pop".

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!

Good morning all!  Can you believe it... Christmas is only 6 weeks away from today!!  Now, i know that Thanksgiving isn't even here yet but it is hard not to think of Christmas with all the Christmas songs playing and decorations out... Thanksgiving does get the short end of the stick a bit hey?  Which is totally unfair because it is such an amazing holiday!!  Gathering with friends and family, resiting what you are thankful for... eating all that yummy and amazing turkey... (now I'm hungry, hehe).  Well anyway, with today marking the 6 week mark until Christmas, i thought i would post a Christmas card.

Today's card is one of my favorite kind of cards to make... the 3 Tier Card.  Well at least that is what i call it.  Some also call it the "Triple Stamp" card because again of the 3 layers. I did a post on how to make this card along with a video.  To see that click HERE.

Well that is all for today.  I hope you all have a fantastic Tuesday.  Until next time... Happy Inkin'!!

Party Ideas

Good morning there!  Well, today is the beginning of my emotional breakdown i think.  Today is my daughters 1st Birthday Party.  Oh goodness, just typing the words makes me misty eyed.  I can't believe how fast the year has gone! It honestly seems as though just yesterday she was born.  Now today isn't her actual birthday, that is on Monday the 12th but today is her party.

So, for her party i made these simple, cute, helpful, teachable table decorations if you will that i am placing aside each of their respective food/beverage items.  I thought that this would be a fun way for the kids to see their letters!

To help the sign stand up, i cut a strip of Whisper White Card Stock 1 12/" x 4" and then folded it in half and stuck it to the back of my sign.  I thought that it worked out quite well!

Well that is it for today all.  Got's lots to do.  Until next time... Happy Inkin"!!

One Side Pocket

Happy Friday all! Welcome back to another Friday Video.  For today's video/card i am doing this super adorable one sided pocket card using the new Daring Adventure stamp set.  When you open the card up... you get...

Isn't that super cute.  I love making these for all kind of occasions.  You could put tons of different kinds of things in the pocket.  Above i used a Tag from Two Tie Bigz (#115954).  So enough already... let's see how to make it!!

The outer card is measured at 5 1/2" x 4, so just a little smaller than an average size card.  The first layer piece (above in Crumb Cake) is cut at 3 3/4" x 5 1/4".  For the largest of the 3 layering pieces (above in Marina Mist) is 3 1/2" x 2 1/2", 2nd piece (Early Espresso) at 3 1/4" x 2 1/4", and the 3rd piece (Very Vanilla) is cut at 3" x 2".  For the inside of the card, for the left side flap, where i would put my message, the Very Vanilla is cut at 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" and the smaller flap for the right side is cut at 3 3/4" x 2 1/2".

Well, i hope you enjoyed today's card/video.  Until next time, Happy Inkin'!!
