Card/Envelope Booklet

Happy Friday everyone.  Oh my, what a super exciting day!!!! Not only is today Friday Video day but it is also the first day you can order from the new 2013-2014 SU! Annual Catalog!!! YIPPIE!!!! Oh, it's like Christmas.  I must have redone my Wish list about 100 times.  I can't wait for my new goodies to arrive so i can get busy creating!!! I have put the new catalog link in the right hand bar of my website or you can click here to take a look.  See something that  you like (i mean, how could you not right?), well click here to place your order with me today!! I appreciate your business!!!

Oh, ok... breath.... LOL.  Let's get back to today's video.

Earlier in the week i posted this card.  I saw this project on the SU! Demo website, Stampin' Connection and had to share it.  In my video i couldn't remember the name of the creative lady that i saw make it but i went and looked her up (it was bothering me i couldn't give her credit).  Her name is Dee Slater.  So thanks a ton Dee for the great idea!!

Here is a look at the inside of the holder:

Now let's take a look at the video.  Here we go....

What a great idea huh? I love it. I do want to mention that in the video i said that the DSP i used was Flower District.  That's wrong.  It is actually called Twitterpated.  Oops!!!  I have made about 15 of these super cute little holders and can't wait to start sending them out!!!!  Would you like one? Well, place an order with me of $50 or more (before shipping/handling and tax) within the entire month of June of June and i will send you one of these super cute projects as my "thank you" to you.  Complete with 2 pre-made cards and envelopes.

In the video i hadn't finished the outside of my project yet or the inside cards.  So, i wanted to share a closer look of those with you now.  The complete image is the first picture to the post.  I wanted to show you a close-up though of the cutie patootie bird on the cover, i love him and the 3D affect.

For the card that i made i chose to use the stamp set Field Flowers (one of my favorites).

I love 2-step stamps!!!

Well all, that's all for today.  I truly hope you enjoyed.  Until next time...

Wildflower Meadow Sneak Peek

A Sneak Peek for you today.  One... or actually two of the sweet new goodies that is going to be available starting tomorrow. Oh my gosh i am soooo excited!!! Speaking of the new catalog, don't forget that today is the last day that you can order from the Spring Catalog! Click the picture to the right of this post (the picture of the catalog) to see the complete issue!!!

Ok, back to the card!  This card i used the Wildflower Meadow Stamp set which has a first EVER coordinating Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder.  Isn't that awesome!!! The image fits inside the embossing folder like a glove!!!

Above is a closer look.  See how the back flower images kind of "outline" the black images?  I just think that it gives your card such a great, new/neat affect.

My card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I really love the way Black and White look together (classic!!!) so i used Basic Black as my base and then a piece of Whisper White with my image on it.  I distressed my edges and added a cut out hummingbird, which is actually part of the stamp image, and then added some Early Espresso twine.  I think it turned out great.  Simple, elegant and clean!!!

Well all, that's all for today.  Hope you enjoyed and until next time...

Average Size Easel

Hello friends, today's share is an average size easel care.  Average size meaning that when it is "closed" it is average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  So this means that it will fit nice and snug in an envelope.

A bit ago i did a video on how to make an easel card, click here. This would be made the same way however the measurements would be a bit different (obviously, lol).  To make this card you would first start out with a piece of card stock (above i used Basic Black for my base) cut at 4 1/4" x 11", then you would make 1 score mark at 5 1/2" and then 1 at 7 1/4" (or you could put the 5 1/2" score mark in the groove of your trimmer and then score at 2 1/4".  Regardless, the goal you are trying to complete is to get the second score mark in the middle so that it will fold down).  Next, you want your top piece (again i used Basic Black) cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", this is what is going to sit on your flap and fold up, creating your easel.

I used Whisper White for my main canvas for my image.  I used the Madison Avenue stamp set in the Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  I then took my Elegant Butterfly punch and punched out 5-10 butterflies int the Basic Black, stacked them all together and then placed one punched out in the Whisper White.  This gives it a great 3D effect.

Here is a look at what the card looks like completely closed...

A great clean and simple look.  Well, that's all for today!! Thanks for stopping by and until next time...

6x6 Card Pocket Holder

Good day friends.  Welcome!!

Today's share is a super cute 6x6 Card/Envelope holder.  This would be a terrific gift for someone that is moving.  Complete with cards and envelopes to make sure that they stay in touch or just a person who loves to send people some "Thinking of You" cards.  Now i noticed when i was going to post this that my ribbon covered up my greeting on the front :(  The greeting set that i used was Feel Goods.  here is a closer look at the complete set seems how you can't really see it in the picture above (oops!!)

This is SOOOOO simple to make and only takes one piece of 12"x12" card stock or DSP.  He is a shot at the inside.  The cards fit on one side and the envelopes fit on another.

For this project i decided to keep with one theme and use the same Floral District DSP for the outside as well as the inside.  I only had to use 1 sheet of 12"x12" for that too!!! I love paper saving, lol:)  Each side holds an average size card of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then a homemade envelope on the other side.  I did a video awhile back on how to make a homemade envelope.  You can check that out by clicking here.

A quick reminder too that this Thursday (May 30th) is the last day that you can order from the Spring Catalog.  Then beginning May 31st you can begin to order from the new 2013-2014 Annual Catalog! Oh my goodness, it's going to be like Christmas!!!!! I can't wait to get my hands on all those amazing goodies!!!

Well all, that's all for today's share.  Until next time...

Happy Friday everyone, and welcome back to another Friday Video!!!

Today's video i am going to show you how to make this awesome drawer box.  A great gift or just cute desktop item where you can hold average size cards (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") or really anything that you want!!!

I apologize for the silly little mistakes that were made in the video this Friday.  I wasn't totally on my game:)  It was about midnight when i finally got the video finished.  My hubby was kind enough to help me rearrange my craft room (pictures to come) so getting to my video was a bit later than normal and i was a bit sleepy!! LOL, what's a girl to do, lol?

Here are the dimensions again in case you forgot them (or, as you will/have noticed, I forgot to mention in the video).

Drawer: Cut at 8 3/4" x 7 1/4" score all 4 sides at 1 3/8".
Top: Cut at 9 1/8" x 6 1/8 and score only 3 sides at 1 1/2".
Bottom: Cut at 9 1/16" x 6 1/16" score only 3 sides at 1 1/2.
Handle: Cut at 7" x 3/4" and score at 1", 1 1/2", 5 1/2" and 6".
Top Piece (Cherry Cobbler): Cut at 5 3/4" x 4 1/2".
Tip Piece DSP: Cut 1/8" inch smaller to give a boarder around the edge.
Drawer Piece DSP: 1 1/4" x 5 3/4".

Well all that is all for today.  I hope you enjoyed today's video tutorial and until next time...

Up-Line Challenge #6

Well hello there, welcome!!!

Today's card is my up-line challenge that i participate in every month with other ladies from my "team".  If this is your first time checking things out, let me explain quick what the challenge is.  Every month our up-line sends us a little stash of goodies that we have to incorporate into a project.  Once completed we send our finished project back and then one of us wins and gets the whole sloo of cards that were sent back! Isn't that fun?!?!? I love it! I think it is a great way to possibly use a piece of something that you don't have to see if you like it and to see others work! Plus who doesn't like to get free goodies in the mail?

This month we received a piece of each of the new In-Color Card Stock! These colors are GREAT!! I love using them and lately haven't been able to get enough of them.  For this card i tried to use mainly "new and upcoming" items so this card can also be considered a Sneak Peek!!! YAY!!!

The background of my card is the new In-Color Strawberry Slush (pretty sure this is my favorite new In-Color).  I wanted to create my own DSP so i used the new stamp set, Simply Sketched (it's a hostess item) and stamped my image in Strawberry Slush ink and did a tone-on-tone.

For my image i used my Strawberry Slush ink and my Primrose Petals ink along with my Blender Pen and did some blending to color in my flowers and get more depth.  I stamped them in the center of my Designer Frame, which i ran through my Big Shot and then cut out and then used my Basic Black Marker to make a black edge and then sponged the edges of the frame itself with Crumb Cake.

I wanted to try and capture so i could show you the inside of my frame.  See how there is a glare on the photo?  Well, i am not just a bad photographer, lol, i wanted to show that i filled my frame in with Crystal Effects to give it a glass look if you will inside the frame.  I love it!!!!

Just a quick reminder that the Spring Catalog is only available until next Friday May 30th! YIKES!!! Make sure to get your orders in before then so you don't miss out!!!!  Click on my Spring Catalog picture located in the right sidebar of my site to view all the goodies inside!!

Well, that's all for today all.  Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time...

Batman Birthday

Happy Hump Day all.  It's finally Wednesday and that means that we have reached the half way mark until the weekend.  With this weekend being Memorial Day I am looking forward to BBQ's and bon-fires!!

Also, Memorial Day marks a very special birthday, my Godson Matthew will be turning 5 that day!! Oh my goodness, 5 years old already.  It seems as though just yesterday he was born.  Doesn't time fly by?

Right now Matthew is really into superheros, especially Batman and Spiderman.  I thought that i would try my hand at a Batman card.  I CASED this card from France Martin (thanks Frenchie).  It took me a few tries but i finally got it.  It is a bit more tricky than it looks, lol.  Especially if your "straight eye" isn't always on target.

Here is a closer picture of the symbol.  Can you tell what materials were used?  If you guessed the Oval Dies (well, in my case it was the Creative Memories cutting system... i don't have the Oval Dies but they are on my list) and the Word Window Punch and some paper snips.  That's it!!

My card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  For my base i chose Midnight Muse.  I thought it looked like the spooky night sky in all the Batman movies.  Then my larger oval is Daffodil Delight and my symbol of course is Basic Black.

Well, that's all for today folks.  Thanks so much for stopping by and i hope you visit again soon.  Until next time...

Anniversary Hearts

Welcome friends and happy Tuesday!!

As i mentioned yesterday my parents celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary yesterday (wow) and i wanted to quickly share with you the card that i made for them.

I used a piece of Whisper White as my base cut at average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  For the top part of my card, i didn't want it to be "normal" so i used my Edgelits Accents along with my Big Shot and i cut the bottom of the front panel of my card, so that it would have a decoration.  I then used the Adoring Accents Embossing folder and embossed the same design above my cut.

I used my Heart Punch and punched out 3 different colors, Whisper White (men's shirt and woman's dress), Basic Black (men's tux), and Cream (woman's skin).  With the heart that i wanted to use for her dress i ran it through my Big Shot using my Fancy Fan Embossing Folder to give it some texture.  Then, i made a slit in the tux jacket and folded back the edges.  I know you can't really see it in the picture, but trust me, it's there!!!:)

I decided that i wanted to pull out some oldie but goodies so i used a retired SU! Punch (I feel so bad that i can't remember what the name of it is) and 2 old stamp sets... Bordering on Romance and Together Forever.  I just thought that these sets went so great with my card!!!

Well all, that's all for today.  I hope you enjoyed my quick post! Until next time...

Drawer Box

Hello all, Happy Monday to you! I hope you all had a great weekend!!! My weekend was great.  Full of gardening, craft shows, and family time!!!  The hubby and I were finally able to get out into our yard this weekend and try and take control of our landscaping!! While my daughter played in her water park toy, while every once and awhile bringing over some water to splash/cool off her Momma and Dadda, lol, we were able to get a lot done, YAY!!!

Well, enough about that.  Let's move on to today's project.  I made this super cute Drawer Box a few months ago and just hadn't found the time to post it.  Isn't it adorable?!?!?!? i love it!!!  This would be a great gift or just a little desk organizer for your scraps pieces of writing paper.

Here is what the box looks like opened.  You can fit normal size cards of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" inside the drawer as well as the average size envelopes.

This is what the top of the drawer looks like.  A great way to display a larger size image.  For this project i chose the Word Play stamp set, which will be retiring soon, boo hoo!!!!  I used a piece of Soft Suede card stock and then layered a piece of Comfort Cafe on top of that.  Then, used the Soft Suede again with a piece of Whisper White on top and then stamped my image.  For my scallops, i used the Large Scallop die and a piece of Night of Navy.

I wanted to show the size of the box compared to actual cards, to kind of give you an idea.  Here are 2 average size cards, they fit great in the drawer.  To see the post for the "Daring Adventure" card click here and to see the card with the sneak peak items from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog available May 31st, click here.

Now, on a bit of a personal note!! I wanted to wish my wonderful, fabulous parents a happy 41st wedding anniversary!! Here is to another 41 wonderful years!!!

Well all, that's it for today.  I hope you enjoyed and until next time...

Tile Technique Video

YAY, it's Friday Video time!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Today's video is featuring the Tile Technique.  This is a fun and simple technique that you can do to make it look as though your image is stamped on a piece of tile.  Earlier this week i posted THIS card and thought that the technique would be a great video.  So here we go...

Well all, again like last week, Google and YouTube are having troubles connecting.  They have been notified though and are working to fix the problem.  However, until that is fixed for this weeks video you will have to directly visit my YouTube Channel.  You can get there by clicking on the man with the camera on the right side of my site. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and i thank you for your patients.

Pretty neat huh?  And didn't i tell you it was simple?  LOVE IT!!  For the card  today I used a piece of Whisper White card stock cut at 3 3/4" x 5" and stamped my image from the Just Believe set all over.  Then scored that piece every 1" to give me my "tile" affect.  I then backed it with a piece of Melon Mambo cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

I used my  Elegant Butterfly Punch with a piece of Wisteria Wonder as well as a piece of Vellum (not the Vellum Card Stock, just the regular Vellum).  I then sponged along the edges of my Wisteria Wonder with my Sponge Daubers and Wisteria Wonder ink.

After the video i added a piece of Basic Black card stock to the middle of my butterfly and drew some antenna's on him.  Then punch out my greeting "thank you" from the Just Believe stamp set and backed it again with Wisteria Wonder card stock and my Elegant Label Punch.

Well all, that is today's video.  I really hope that you enjoyed and that you stop back by again soon.  Until next time...

Swing Card

Hello stampers, welcome to my little creative space, Mrs. Lincolns Inkin!!

Today's card is a Swing Card.  Now this card has been around for awhile but i just got to making one and let me tell you what, it was super fun to make!!!

Let's see if i can explain a bit on how to create this awesome Swing Card.  For my base i chose to use Crumb Cake.  This piece is cut at 5 1/2" x 11" and then scored at 4 1/4".  So it starts out as just your normal size card. Now you take the top flap of your card and fold that in half. Now to get your "swing" piece, above i chose to use my Framelit Dies, you want to position your die do that is half on the score line and half off.  Take the clear plate to your Big Shot and place it only to the score line.  You don't want to the die or the clear plate to be covering the entire piece of card stock because that will cause it to cut through the entire thing.

See in the above picture how the frame is only cut out on the one side? That is what we are going for.  So you only run your plates for your big shot half-way through.  Man i really hope that makes some sort of sense, lol.

For my images i used the Apothecary Art set and the Word Play set.  Hurry, hurry though, the retiring list, which can be viewed here, is taking Word play away from us:(  Here is a closer look at this amazing stamp:

To add a bit more something to the inside of my card, partly because you can see the side of the card when it is closed, and to give it a finishing touch, i stamped the En Francis stamp on it and then shadowed Chocolate Chip around the edges of my entire card.

Well all, i hope my post wasn't too confusing today and i hope that you did enjoy.  Until next time...
