Thanks A Million

Hello there stampers!  Welcome to Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'. I know that the post is late today (sorry), i had some doctor's appointment this morning and didn't get a chance to post before i left!

Today's card i pulled out and used my Tulip Frame embossing folder.  I love this folder but haven't used it in quite awhile because i have been busy with all the new awesome products that SU! has came out with lately!  The Tulip Frame folder, to me, is just so elegant and pretty.  Here is a closer look at it:

I used my frame on my Pumpkin Pie base card stock cut at average size of 5 1/2" x 11" scored at 4 1/4".  I then cut a piece of Floral District DSP and fit it into my "frame".  That piece measures approximately 3 5/8" x 4 7/16".  I had some extra flowers that i had punched out from another project (just so happened to be in the Pumpkin Pie as well, lucky me!!!) so i used those in a layering format, added a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch in the Wild Wasabi and then topped them off with a Elegant Buttery [punch] in my Daffodil Delight card stock.

For my greeting i grabbed one of my altime favs, Word Play and made a banner with my Whisper White.  A pretty simple card to make, but i hope that whomever receives it knows that though it may of been simple to make, it was made with caring and love!

Hope you enjoyed today's post everyone, and thanks a ton for stopping by!!! Until next time...

Peek-A-Boo Easel

Hello stampers!!!  Whew is it COLD and snowy here in the Mitten state!!  We just got dumped on with inches, upon inches of snow!!  This morning, i awoke to the sound of my sweet baby girl (awwww), only to realize that i was running extremely late due to us having no power!!  It was a hoot, and quite a site i am sure, trying to get ready this morning by only a light glow from a flashlight! I truly felt like a pioneer women and realized how much i take something as simple as electricity for granted!

Today's card is a Peek-A-Boo Easel card.  This card, if you have seen them before, normally where my "cup" stamp is, there is a sheer piece of velum or window sheet so that you can see the glow of a battery operated tea-light shine through.  These cards were huge this past Christmas.  However, since Christmas already passed, i wanted to make mine about warm weather, which i am hoping comes soon!!!

Here is what the card looks like when it is opened:

Though this card may look a bit complicated to make, it truly is not.  First you need the base of your card to measure 4 1/4" x 11" and then score at 5 1/2".  Therefore it is the same size as an average size card.  Once you have that done, on the left flap you need to score from the top left corner point to the bottom right corner point.  Then, cut a piece of card stock (i don't recommend DSP for this part because it is not as heavy) at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Place sticky on the scored piece and then place your new cut card stock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") on that triangle piece.  Now you should be able to open your card.

For the layers above i used Tempting Turquoise (4 1/2" x 5 1/2", this is the piece you stick to your triangle), Wild Wasabi (4" x 5 1/4") and Whisper White (3 3/4" x 5").  I used a piece of Floral District DSP topped with another piece of Wild Wasabi for my finishing touches. For my stamp, i used a cute little glass from the set Happy Hour (way too cute!!!) Here is a closer look at that awesome DSP pack and cute stamp set:

LOVE IT!!!!  Well all, hope you enjoyed today and i hope you stop by again!!  Until next time...

Rosette Card

Hello there!!!  Trying to decide what card i wanted to post for today, i came across this Rosette card that i had made awhile ago and never shared:(  So, no better time then the present right?

The Rosette is something that is so much fun to make.  You can either use the die that is offered by SU!, or, my personal preference, use your Score Board and score at whichever width you want your Rosette to be.  I like this method for that exact reason... i can make them in all different sizes.

For this Rosette i started with a piece of Elegant Eggplant 1" x 5 1/2" and scored my piece every 1/2".  Once you are done scoring, you take and accordion fold your strip.  Once it is all folded, attach the two end with Red Sticky.  I strongly suggest Red Sticky because you want to make sure that it has a good hold!!  Then, push down on your Rosette and stick it (i like to use the Tumbo glue for this part) down to a circle piece (doesn't matter which size just as long as it is smaller then your Rosette).  Let it dry a few seconds and presto.... you have your Rosette!!!

A friendly reminder too that SAB is almost over:(  Don't forget to place your order to receive a free item for every $50 you spend (prior to tax and s/h).

Well all, hope you enjoyed today's post!! Until next time...

Craft Room Tour Video

Hello there everyone, welcome!!  For today's post i thought that i would share with you a video of my craft room.  Things have changed a bit since the video was shot, not many things, everything is still in the same place but now, throughout the time that i have been crafting in there, little things have been added and well.... it's been crafted in so it isn't nearly as "neat" as it was in the video, lol!!  Let's take a look!

For my first video EVER i didn't think that it was terrible, lol:)  Well, that's my little creative space and my short little post for today. I hope you enjoyed a peek into my room and it may have given you some ideas for your space!! Until next time...

Pinwheel & Decorative Label Video

Hello stampers! Happy Saturday. I'm so sorry that my Friday Video wasn't posted yesterday on Friday, i wasn't feeling well at all and just didn't get a chance to upload it.  So now you get a Saturday Video, lol:)

Today's video is of the Pinwheel card that i posted early this week.  You can check that post out here.

Here are the measurements again in case you missed them.  For your Pinwheel you will need two pieces of scrap card stock at 2 5/8" x 2 5/8".  One piece of colored card stock cut at 3" x 3" and then 8 squares (one a DSP and one a solid) cut at 1 1/4" x 1 1/4".  The bottom piece of DSP that i used was cut at 1 1/2" x 4 1/4".

Hope you enjoyed today's video.  Until next time...

Sweet Friend

Hey all, welcome!!! Today's post is quick, a card that i made using the Blossom Punch.

I wanted to make my top layer, a piece of Whisper White which i ran through my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, a little different.  So, i used my punch and punched on each side, hanging off a bit, so that you could see the Daffodil Delight underneath.  I then topped it with another punch on top.  I just think that it makes for such a nice, simple, little way to show someone you care!!

The base of the card measures 5 1/2" x 11" scored at 4 1/4".  For the top Whisper White piece, i cut that at 5 1/4" x 4", to have the Daffodil Delight become a "border".

Well, that's all for me today.  Hope you enjoyed and until next time...

Pinwheel

Happy Hump Day!  The week is almost over.  Seems to me that this week is just flying by!

Today's card is a blast from the past. Well, at least the technique is!  The Pinwheel card. One of my all-time favorites!  I just LOVE the way they look when you use DSP.  In the card today i used the DSP Sycamore Street.  Yes, you could say that right now i am obsessed with that pack, lol;)  I used the DSP in my Pinwheel and then also the same at the bottom of the card, accenting the Pinwheel.  I think it brings it all together nicely.

Here is a closer look at it.  It is really simple to make.  All with just 2 pieces of 3" x 3" cardstock... hmmm... do i have you wondering yet?  LOL, check back here Friday for my Friday Video and learn how to make this awesome card!!

For my greeting i used the stamp set Petite Pairs, another one of my favorite go-to sets!  I used my Decroative label punch to punch it out.  Yup that's right, this cool little design is made from the Decorative Label... neat huh (hint, i will also be showing how to do that on Friday's Video);)

Here is a little look at the Sycamore Street DSP that i am OBSESSED with, hehe

Well all, hope you enjoyed.  Until next time...

For You

Hello all, welcome to my little place on the web, Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!  Today's card is one that i made using one of my favorite sets, Mixed Bunch.  I love how versatile this set can be and really love that it has a coordinating punch!

I went with a Early Espresso cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  I then topped it with a piece of Calypso Coral, cut at 3 3/4" x 5". I love the way these two colors go together.  I stamped my image in Garden Green ink on a piece of Very Vanilla and then punched it out using the Blossom Punch. I "indented" my punch into the Calypso Coral, giving it a nice 3D look
I love that my using just 4 little Dimensionals it can add a whole new look to your card!! And we all know me, i LOVE dimension!!  To finish my card off i took some Calypso Coral Bakers Twine (i noticed in the picture that the twine is crooked, sorry about that) and wrapped it around my card.  Then placed my greeting from the Elements of Style set in the middle.

Here is a closer look at the Mixed Bunch set that i used today:

Well all, i hoped you liked my little share today.  I hope you stop by again! Until next time...

Here for Eachother

Hello!! Happy Monday!  Another weekend has come and gone and all too quickly i must add. This weekend was very productive for me though.  All day Sunday i was lucky enough to have a crafting day with my momma and was able to get a lot of cards done and try some techniques that i have been dying to try!! It was such a great day!!!

Today's card is just a simple card that i made using my clear blocks, some ink and the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set that is available right now with SAB.  Don't miss out on SAB, there are some great items that you can get for FREE for every $50 you spend (before s/h and tax).  Click HERE to see the SAB brochure.

The clear blocks that are offered by SU! are some great, high quality blocks.  I have used blocks from other companies and i can honestly say, that even if i wasn't a SU! Demo, i would choose SU! blocks hands down.   I love the curved edge that they have all the way around. Makes it easy to hold and slip around and take the chance of "smudging" your image when you go to place it.  They are easy to clean and come in all different sizes so you can make sure you have the perfect one for your stamp.  Here is a closer look at them:

For the card above, what i did, was i took my Block D and my Block A, placed them right in my ink that i chose, Primrose Petals and Tempting Turquoise and then placed... or stamped, lol them on my card, which gave me the Squares! I think it's a great way to make a simple card or some simple homemade DSP. And we all know how much i LOVE homemade DSP!!!!!!

Well, i hope you all enjoyed and have a fantastic Monday.  Until next time...

Challenge #4

Hello there, welcome!!  Today's card is for my upline challenge that  i participate in every month from my upline.  For this months challenge we were sent DSP from the set Poetry Dsp set along with a doiley (as well as some other materials that i didn't used).  With those two pieces (that i did decide to use, lol) above is what i came up with.

I used the Poetry DSP as my baking and then made a flower using 3 of the scallop circle punches.  The 2 3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, and the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle.  I used my sponge, with some Soft Suede ink, and sponged the Doily to give it more of an aged look.  I didn't want the card to be too "busy" so i added a Basic Black strip cut at 1" x 5 1/2" and used my Decorative Label Punch to cut out my greeting from the Petite Pairs set.

I hope my upline likes what i came up with, as i do hope you did as well.  Have a wonderful day all! Until next time...

Post It Holder Video

Good morning all. Welcome to Friday Video!  I posted this adorable little Post It holder a few weeks back and had tons of requests on how i make it, so i figured it was time to post a video on it! For those of you that requested it, I'm sorry that it took so long but if you ever send a request on how to do something, never fear, i PROMISE that there will eventually be a video on it! It just might take me a little bit, lol:)

Easy enough right?!?!? And how versatile are they? You can make them for little gift, your own personal use and make them for all types of occasions!! I just love them!

So, a little update on the new pup!  Dexter is melding into our family nicely. He is learning the word "no" well seems how lately that is all he is hearing! I had forgotten how hard and time consuming it was to train a pup lol!  With our first dog, Vinnie, he came to us from his foster family almost fully trained... so it was so easy for us with him.  This new little one... whew.... take some time!  If anyone has any helpful tips on what you did to help make the training process a bit more smooth... your hints are greatly appreciated!

Well, hope you enjoyed today. Until next time...

Bookmark Card

Happy Valentines Day all! Now normally today i would post a card that goes with the festive day... but since i posted an extra video yesterday of my Valentines Day Coupon Book (you can see that here).  For today i decided to post a Bookmark card.  Above is the front of the card.  The greeting "So Worth The Wait" is from the awesome stamp set Word Play.  I guess that could kind of go with Valentines Day huh... if you Valentine is away or not knowing you want them to be your Valentine yet, lol, then you are waiting.  Anywhoo...

When you open the card the above two pictures is what the inside looks like.  The flap that has the Night of Navy card stock on it is actually your bookmark.  It is perforated so that you, or whomever you give your card too, can tear it off easily and use it in their book.  How cute is that.  I wish i would of taken a picture of the bookmark once it is tore off :( Oops!!!

To make the card you start with a piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4" x 10 1/4".  Score then, with your regular scoring blade/tool at 8" and then take your perforating tool and score at 4".  You may to press kind of hard with your perforating blade to make sure that it will tear easy, but don't push too hard that it goes through the paper.  The DSP on the front, Comfort Cafe, is cut at 4" x 3 3/4". For the circle shape around my image, from the great stamp set Feeling Sentimental, which is available right now for SAB (click here to view the SAB brochure) i just free handed a circle around my image and then again with a piece of Night Quite Navy.  The actual bookmark inside i just put a piece of Night of Navy cut at 4" x 2". I wasn't quite sure how i was going to decorate it... so it is just plain. But sometimes i don't think that plain is that bad.

Here is a closer look at the Feeling Sentimental stamp set from SAB:
Well, that's all for today.  I hope you enjoyed and until next time...

Valentine Coupon Book Video

Hello there!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!  Today is a special bonus video day!! YAY!!! I wanted to share this idea with you in case you needed a cute last minute Valentines Day idea!  I call it my Valentines Day Coupon Book!  Do you ever find things laying around the house that you know you could be able to use but just don't know how?  I do that all the time.  This project is a perfect example! Envelopes!!!! We all have that stash of envelopes, it seems, where we have lost whatever was originally suppose to be put in them, or they are extras from a previous project... so what to do with them?  Well, here is an idea...

Simple enough right? And what a cute idea!!

This coupon book happens to measure at 4 1/4" x 8 1/4".  For the front of my Coupon Book, i used a piece of Real Red cut at 4 1/2" x 5" then scored it at 1/2" on three sides.  The piece of Whisper White that fits inside is cut at 3" x 5 1/4".

To decorate the inside i used two pieces of Real Red with some awesome DSP from the Candlelight Christmas set. Who says you can only use Christmas DSP at Christmas time?  The measurements for the inside flaps are 3 1/4" x 7 3/4".  The "coupons" themselves are measured at 4" x 7 3/4".

I just think that this is an adorable way to give someone something that they can use for many days/weeks to come.  Just imagine the kinds of coupons that you could make....!! The possibilities are endless!! Well, i hope you enjoyed today's bonus video! Until next time...

New Addition

Hello everyone. Well today's post is not going to be of a card but is going to be an introduction.  I would like you to meet the newest member of our family.... Dexter!!!

He became a part of our family last night after a friend of our announced that her dog had puppies and they were ready for their new homes.  I must say... it was a bit of a whirlwind... little did i know that yesterday we were going to become puppy parents!! :)

Dexter is 7 weeks old and a mix between a Labordoodle and a Shar Pai! He isn't quite as wrinkly as the Shar Pai is but you can defentely feel that he has some wrinkles on him.  So far he seems to be fitting right in.  We have another dog, Vinnie, that we have had for about 5 years now and they became fast friends.  Our daughter on the other had is wondering what is going on and what this black blob of blur is running around the house!

Well all, until next time...

Baby Quilt

Happy Monday!!!  ToI hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Today's card is a baby card!  I used the quilting technique along with my Postage Punch to help resemble the "squares" in the quilt.  I outlined the squares with a stamp from the Patterned Boarders set from TPC Studio in Brown Memento Ink.  Once that was done, i didn't like all the White that you could see, i wanted it to look more aged so i took a sponge and a lite coat of Soft Suede ink and ran my sponge over the entire background.  This i think helped a lot!!!

For my image i used one that i have had for a long period of time but have never used:(  I love though when you find things that you forgot you had... it's a little like Christmas (hehe)!!!  The set is called Two By Two and i think it is just ADORABLE!!!  Here is a look at the image a bit closer:

Aren't the animals just so cute?  I just love it!!  I used a few of my Copic markers to color in the image and cut it out using my Framelit Label Dies.  To back my image, i used the same size "frame" that i used to cut my image out, cut it in half and then snailed it on the back to give it a nice boarder.

Well, hope you enjoyed.  Until next time...
