Heat Embossed Blooming with Kindness

Happy Monday all! Welcome to Mrs. Lincolns Inkin!!!

Today's card is a simple card using the Framelit Label Dies to give the card a different look rather than just your average looking card.  I used three different layers for this card, all cut from different sizes of the Framelit Die Collection.  The paper that i chose to use today was Whisper White (the base of my card), Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black.

I wanted my images from the Blooming with Kindness set to really pop out so i heat embossed them using my Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder! I just love those two colors together!! Makes me think of sunshine and Spring!!

Here is a closer look at some of the items that i used for today's card:

Framelit Label Dies

Blooming with Kindness stamp set.

To finish off my card i used my Curly Cute Punch and punch out a saying from the Pretty Petites stamp set!

Well, that's all for today friends! Hope you enjoyed! Until next time...

Rubber Band Background

Hello everyone, welcome!!!

Well, after a few days of not posting i am excited to be back into the swing of things!! My hubby and I have been in Vegas for the last few days to stand beside our two best friends and watch them become husband and wife!! It was such an awesome time and experience! But there will be more of that later in the post!

First let's talk about this super cute, super fun Rubber Bank Background card that i made.  What is the Rubber Bank Background Technique you ask?  Well, it is just what it sounds like!!!!

Using a rubber band around the spool part of your brayer and then inking it up and rolling it all over is all it takes!!!  With this card i used Primrose Petals Ink, a rubber band, and my Brayer on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock cut at 4" x 4" and this was my end result! What do you think?  Pretty spiffy huh?  I love such simple techniques!!!  Once my background was complete i adhered it to my card base which i used Wild Wasabi cut at average size of 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 4 1/4" and then just topped two strips of Primrose Petals cut at 4" x 1" to the top and bottom of my Whisper White.

Now, i know what i am a day behind with the news but, i wanted to announce that SU! released the retired list for the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog!

I am so,  so sad to see some of the items go but i got a sneak peak at the new catalog and let me tell you what... hold on to yourself because the new items that are coming out OH MY GOODNESS SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!! There is so much that i just can'' wait to show you!!!!  Click on the picture above to see the complete list!!

Now on to some Vegas shots!!

I love to fly... my hubby not so much so i got to sit next to the window and the view was just amazing!!! I was like a Garfield stuck to the window most of the time!!! We had such clear sky's and  smooth flight it was awesome!!!

Here is just one of the shots that i took from the Strip.  The buildings are so tall and everything is just so busy and fast paced.  It took my breath away!!

My hubby and I were the Best Man and Matron of Honor!!! I was so very honored that they asked us to spend their special day with them. Not going to lie... i was super excited too that they decided to get married in Vegas, lol:)  Don't you just love the hubby's bow-tie? I thought he looked very handsome!!!

After the wedding we had one day to site-see and do whatever we wanted.  We visited this awesome wax museum!  The figures there looked so real it was a little scary.  Before approaching them i had to touch them on the hands to make sure that they weren't real!! What would Vegas be without a picture with Elvis?!?!?!?

One of the last things that we did, this is me with the beautiful bride, was visit the M&M shop! We were calling this the Fabulous Four Floors of Fun because that is exactly what it is!!! I mean look at the M&M.... he looks as though he is coming down off a sugar rush, lol:)

Well all, hope you enjoyed my share today!!! Until next time...

Birthday - Scratch Off Technique Video

Happy Friday!!!

Welcome to my Friday Video all!! Earlier this week i posted a card that i made using the Scratch Off Technique (at least that is what i call it, lol). To view that post click here.  I had a lot of compliments and requests to show how i did that card, or at least the technique so good thing that it was already planning on being my Friday Video.  I want to say thank you too to all those that did inquire about it.  I love to share new ideas and techniques so please, keep the positive feedback coming!!!  Let's take a look shall we?

How stinkin' adorable huh? Oh my goodness!!!!  I have been totally obsessed with this lately and pretty soon anyone that ever gets a card from me is going to have to "scratch" it off:)

Here is a closer look at the cupcake that whomever received your card would scratch off.  I didn't want to scratch it yet because i do plan on sending this piece of fun out to a dear friend!

My Polka Dot Parade DSP (LOVE IT) is cut at 5 1/2" x 3" and i outlined the top and bottom of it with some Certainly Celery and my Scallop Trim Boarder.  I didn't want the card to be too "busy", i didn't want to take away from the cupcakes and all the fun that they have in store so that is all the embellishing that i did.

For my cupcakes today i wanted to showcase the Create A Cupcake stamp set that i used as well and the coordinating punch.  They are so cute! I mean who doesn't love cupcakes right?

Thanks a ton for visiting today.  Wanted to let everyone know too that there won't be a post again until later next week. Our bestest friends are getting married!!! YAY!!! Look out for wedding cards, lol!! Until next time all...

Old Page..... Daring Adventure

Hello all, welcome to Mrs. Lincolns Inkin'!

Simple card today using an old book that i had laying around.  I love using things, such as old book pages, to make something new!!

My card base measures average size of 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 4 1/4" and today i used Early Espresso for my base.  I added some Marina Mist, cut at 5 1/4" x 4" for my larger backing piece that is framing my old book page and cut a piece at 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" which is what i used as my backing for my greeting, which is from the awesome stamps set, Daring Adventure!  I cut the book page at 5" x 3 3/4".

Here is a closer look at the stamp set that i am showcasing today...

So, i noticed when looking at my blog post from yesterday that... oops... could i of posted any more times the announcement about the Dolled-Up Birthday Kit?  LOL, when i was making my post yesterday it didn't show up all those times on my "preview" page.  I didn't even know it was like that until late last night.  Sorry about that!!  I guess i just wanted to make sure that you all didn't miss out on the super cute kit!!!!

Well all, thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today's post!! Until next time...

Life in Moments

Happy Wednesday!!!

Today's card is a simple, standard size card measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", that i made using the Secret Garden stamp set along with the coordinating Framelit set, yup... you guessed it... named Secret Garden:)

My card base is made of Old Olive card stock which i let serve as a boarder too showcasing my Flower District DSP (which i just LOVE).  The background is "busy" so i wanted my vocal point of my card, my flowers, to really stand out.  So after i cut them out using my framelits i puffed them up on Dimensionals and highlighted them with a piece of Elegant Eggplant card stock and topped that with some of my 5/8" Organza Ribbon.

To color in my flowers, i used 3 main colors of Copic in the Purple family.  Those colors are BV13, BV02, and BV00.  For the center of my flowers I also used some Copic, mixing 2 colors together... R24 and Y08 (a red and a yellow) to acquire the "orange" color that i wanted. As always, a helpful tip when coloring with Copic... you want to make sure that you stamp your main image that you are coloring with Memento Ink (any color, that's up to you).  I have found that with the Memento, the Copic doesn't "run" outside the lines like it tends to do with our SU! Ink as well as others:(

Now for an announcement.  SU! has released the second Project Kit!! YAY!!!!   Drum roll please..... The Dolled Up Birthday Kit! How stinkin' cute is this kit?!?!? Aw, i just love it!!!!

Belated Birthday

Good morning all!! Happy Tuesday!!!

Today's card is a card that unfortunately is one that we all hate to admit that sometime we do, but let's face it... with life so busy we do sometimes miss someones birthday:(  This card today is a Belated Birthday card that i made as an "in case" this happens, lol!!

I used the All Dressed Up stamp set (LOVE IT!!!) for my greeting and the coordinating Dress Up Framelits to make my dress and sweater.  Isn't that sweater adorable?!?!?  Here is a look at those 2 items that you can purchase from SU!:

I didn't want the back of my card to just be plain so i heat embossed it with my Clear Embossing Powder to give it more of a "birthday" look.  Plus, who doesn't love a little shimmer affect on their cards?

My card base measures average size of 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 4 1/4".  My back Basic Black piece i cut 1/8" smaller all the way around so that you could still see my Whisper White from behind, also becoming a boarder.  I used my Scallop Oval dies in Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette to help showcase my dress.

Well all, hope you enjoyed today's share.  Until next time...

Scratch Off Thank You

Hello bloggers, welcome!!!

I am super excited to share today's card with you!  This is such a fun card to make and i have been making them like crazy!!!  I saw this technique from a blog that i visit often, Dawn Griffith's blog, and couldn't wait to try it!!!

This card is an average size card that measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I wanted the base of my card to look like "space" so i went with none other than Basic Black.  I used my VersaMark Ink with my White Embossing Powder for the stars and then stamped the spaceship image in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out.  Now for the really neat part!

In the window of the ship, you can scratch off the gray exterior and reveal your hidden message!! How flippin' neat is that?!?!?!? Oh, i just love it!!!  Here is a closer look at the revealed message as well as the stamp set that i used for this project...

Well, i hope you all enjoyed today's card and... hint, hint... check back on Friday for my Friday Video... i have a feeling that this technique will be showcased, lol:)  Until next time all...
