Bookmark Card

Happy Valentines Day all! Now normally today i would post a card that goes with the festive day... but since i posted an extra video yesterday of my Valentines Day Coupon Book (you can see that here).  For today i decided to post a Bookmark card.  Above is the front of the card.  The greeting "So Worth The Wait" is from the awesome stamp set Word Play.  I guess that could kind of go with Valentines Day huh... if you Valentine is away or not knowing you want them to be your Valentine yet, lol, then you are waiting.  Anywhoo...

When you open the card the above two pictures is what the inside looks like.  The flap that has the Night of Navy card stock on it is actually your bookmark.  It is perforated so that you, or whomever you give your card too, can tear it off easily and use it in their book.  How cute is that.  I wish i would of taken a picture of the bookmark once it is tore off :( Oops!!!

To make the card you start with a piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4" x 10 1/4".  Score then, with your regular scoring blade/tool at 8" and then take your perforating tool and score at 4".  You may to press kind of hard with your perforating blade to make sure that it will tear easy, but don't push too hard that it goes through the paper.  The DSP on the front, Comfort Cafe, is cut at 4" x 3 3/4". For the circle shape around my image, from the great stamp set Feeling Sentimental, which is available right now for SAB (click here to view the SAB brochure) i just free handed a circle around my image and then again with a piece of Night Quite Navy.  The actual bookmark inside i just put a piece of Night of Navy cut at 4" x 2". I wasn't quite sure how i was going to decorate it... so it is just plain. But sometimes i don't think that plain is that bad.

Valentine Coupon Book Video

Hello there!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!  Today is a special bonus video day!! YAY!!! I wanted to share this idea with you in case you needed a cute last minute Valentines Day idea!  I call it my Valentines Day Coupon Book!  Do you ever find things laying around the house that you know you could be able to use but just don't know how?  I do that all the time.  This project is a perfect example! Envelopes!!!! We all have that stash of envelopes, it seems, where we have lost whatever was originally suppose to be put in them, or they are extras from a previous project... so what to do with them?  Well, here is an idea...

Simple enough right? And what a cute idea!!

This coupon book happens to measure at 4 1/4" x 8 1/4".  For the front of my Coupon Book, i used a piece of Real Red cut at 4 1/2" x 5" then scored it at 1/2" on three sides.  The piece of Whisper White that fits inside is cut at 3" x 5 1/4".

To decorate the inside i used two pieces of Real Red with some awesome DSP from the Candlelight Christmas set. Who says you can only use Christmas DSP at Christmas time?  The measurements for the inside flaps are 3 1/4" x 7 3/4".  The "coupons" themselves are measured at 4" x 7 3/4".

I just think that this is an adorable way to give someone something that they can use for many days/weeks to come.  Just imagine the kinds of coupons that you could make....!! The possibilities are endless!! Well, i hope you enjoyed today's bonus video! Until next time...

Hello everyone. Well today's post is not going to be of a card but is going to be an introduction.  I would like you to meet the newest member of our family.... Dexter!!!

He became a part of our family last night after a friend of our announced that her dog had puppies and they were ready for their new homes.  I must say... it was a bit of a whirlwind... little did i know that yesterday we were going to become puppy parents!! :) 

Dexter is 7 weeks old and a mix between a Labordoodle and a Shar Pai! He isn't quite as wrinkly as the Shar Pai is but you can defentely feel that he has some wrinkles on him.  So far he seems to be fitting right in.  We have another dog, Vinnie, that we have had for about 5 years now and they became fast friends.  Our daughter on the other had is wondering what is going on and what this black blob of blur is running around the house!

Baby Quilt



Happy Monday!!!  ToI hope you all enjoyed your weekend! 

Today's card is a baby card!  I used the quilting technique along with my Postage Punch to help resemble the "squares" in the quilt.  I outlined the squares with a stamp from the Patterned Boarders set from TPC Studio in Brown Memento Ink.  Once that was done, i didn't like all the White that you could see, i wanted it to look more aged so i took a sponge and a lite coat of Soft Suede ink and ran my sponge over the entire background.  This i think helped a lot!!!

For my image i used one that i have had for a long period of time but have never used:(  I love though when you find things that you forgot you had... it's a little like Christmas (hehe)!!!  The set is called Two By Two and i think it is just ADORABLE!!!  Here is a look at the image a bit closer:

Aren't the animals just so cute?  I just love it!!  I used a few of my Copic markers to color in the image and cut it out using my Framelit Label Dies.  To back my image, i used the same size "frame" that i used to cut my image out, cut it in half and then snailed it on the back to give it a nice boarder.

Valentines Mailbox

Good morning stampers!  Today's Friday Video is from a request that had for my Valentines Mailbox's that were seen on the video i did of my craft room. The mailboxes come out around Valentines Day and i have had great luck finding them at Target in the dollar section!!! How great is there?  You can stock up on them and use them all year round.

For the mailbox's that i showcased today i used DSP from the More Amore DSP set. You will need a piece cut at 4" x 12". There may be "templates" out there on how exactly to decorate them, but this method works well for me, and i think is super simple.  Here is a closer look at my 2 mailboxes:

Papillon Potpourri Thank You

Hello everyone. A quick post today.  Today's card is a thank you card that i made using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set with the  Elegant Butterfly Punch which fits perfectly with the stamp set.

I stamped my butterflies in Cajun  Craze and then added Jewels to add a little "bling" to them.  For my strips of paper i used the Sycamore Street DSP and cut one strip at 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" and then the smaller one at 1" x 4 1/4".  I spaced them a little apart so that the Basic Black card stock would still show through.

TO add a little something to the inside of my card i used the same butterfly punch from Papillon Potpourri and inked in in Cajun Craze and then sporadically stamped them on the inside on a piece of Whisper White.

Wax Paper Resist Background

Happy Wednesday!!! 

Today's card is a cute little birthday card that i made using the technique, Wax Paper Resist! I love this technique. I just adds so much meaning behind "homemade DSP":) 

A quick mention before i get into the materials that i used for this card.  I have had some comments and emails lately regarding directions to some of the cards i make! No problem.  However, with projects such as my Post It Note Holder and Step Card (which i did a video for last week), it is easier for me to show how to assemble those projects in video, rather than trying to type it all out to explain it.  Therefore, if you have requested directions for a certain project that you have seen, first and foremost THANK YOU!! and secondly keep coming back i will make sure that i post a video for each request that i get!! I just don't want anyone ever to think that i am ignoring their requests!!

Now, for today's card (which hint, hint, will be a video on one of my Friday Video's) i used my Primrose Petals Ink on Glossy Card Stock after "resisting" my Honeycomb embossing folder on a piece of wax paper!

Here is a little explanation as to what you do to get the Wax paper Resist background.  First, you need to run a piece of wax paper, through your big shot with an embossing folder.  Next, place the "shiny" side of your Glossy Card Stock onto the wax paper that has the embossing on it.  Now, take some sort of "cushion" (i like to use a towel) and place your card stock/wax paper in between two sides of the towel.  With an iron, as hot as it can get, rub over the towel where your card stock/wax paper is.  This is going to transfer the image from the wax paper onto your Glossy Card Stock.  Take your Brayer and then brayer on the ink color of your choice. (whew, see how long that was, lol?)

Hello stampers!! Welcome!!  Today's card is a simple Valentine that i made using one of the sets that is available right now for SAB! (click here to see the SAB Brochure)  The set is called Madison Avenue and it is great!  Here is a closer look at it:

I wanted to use the "stem" looking image but not necessarily for a flower, so i took my Stamp-a-majig and used numerous images to create a bottom background. I love using images for things that they aren't generally supposed to be used for:) I separated the white background from my stamped background with a piece of Melon Mambo cut at 4 1/4" x 1" and then did some Faux Stitching with my Gel Pen.

For my greeting i used my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and then cut it in half so that it would outline my 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  The greeting came from the stamp set Field Flowers! We all know how much i LOVE that set!!

Happy Monday. Welcome to another post at Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!  Today there are a few things that i want to talk about. Some great new promotions that were announced by SU! But first, let's get to today's project! Step Card Video

Happy Friday all and welcome to another Friday Video here are Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin!!!  I had a few requests on how i made the Step Card that i posted a few days ago (click Here to see that post) so i thought that i would make that my Friday Video for today.  Let's take a look:

The cutting and scoring sometimes can be a little confusing so here are the dimensions once again!  The base of your card needs to be cut at 4 1/2" x 11".  When cutting your base, put your card stock, going to long way, in your trimmer, place your blade at the 1" mark and then slide down to the 6 1/2" mark. Do this on both sides of your base.  To score your base we need a score mare, only from the top of our Score Board to the cut mark at 1", 2", and 6 1/2", we need to do this on both sides.  When scoring our "center", we need to make a score mark from our top cut mark to our bottom cut mark at 5 1/2". To decorate your "panels", your DSP should measure 7/8" x 4 1/2".  Remember that your 7/8" mark is going to be 2 "marks" right before your inch mark.  For your middle section of your card, i used Whisper White, and that is cut at 2 1/4" x 4 3/8".  The 3/8" mark remember is 2 "marks" right before your 1/2" mark (lots of "marks" going on isn't there?), lol:)

The stamp set that i used today is the Just Believe set, LOVE it. But then again what set don't i love?  Here is a closer look at it:
