Going Global - Masculine

Hi stampers!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!

Today's share is of a Sara's Simple Share featuring a Masculine card.  A lot of time we think that the men in our lives only need to get cards on birthday's, Christmas, Valentines Day... but what about just sending them a card in the mail or leaving it where they will find it just to tell them you love them and that you would be lost without them.  Guys secretly like that kind of thing I think:)

The stamp set that I used is the Going Global set along with the Going Places DSP.  Both of these items will be leaving us on May 31st and right now you can only get items while supplies last! YIKES!!!

To add a little bit more "man" to the card I used my twine to wrap around to give it a little more decoration but not anything overpowering.

Masculine - Grew Up Loved

Hi there all! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!

Today I'm sharing a Masculine card that is part of Sara's Simple Shares.  This is a very simple card that you can make for that special man figure (this case I had my father in mind).

It is an average size card measuring 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and is in Crumb Cake card stock.  I have one layering piece, that is in the same color that measures 4" x 5 1/4".  I then took my Crumb Cake ink and stamped a tone-on-tone image using the Wonderland stamp set.  I did stamp off first on a piece of scrap paper so that it wouldn't be so bold.  The greeting... I just love this greeting and think it is so great, is from the set Suite Sayings.  This is stamped in Soft Suede ink:)  Then to add the finishing touch I wrapped some twine around the side.

Nuts About You

Hi there everyone.  Thanks for swinging in today:)

Today's share is a masculine card that I made using the Acorny Thank You set.  LOL, I just love the name of that set:)  This is a great card that is straight to the point for that special guy in your life.

The set has a coordinating punch, the Acorn Punch that I used to punch all the acorns out with.  You can purchase this stamp set and coordinating punch in a bundle and you would save 15%!!

I chose a piece of DSP from the Going Places DSP stack and then chose to use a darker color (Soft Suede) for the base of my acorns.  I was going to just leave them all Soft Suede, but decided not to and punched out a piece of Crumb Cake card stock after I did a tone on tone image to add the dots.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for taking a peek today.  Until next time...

Masculine Thank You

Hi all.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's Masculine card share.  Today I used a technique called Ink Dragging. I will have a video on this technique this Friday so make sure to check it out.

I used the stamp set Moonlake, one of my favs.  It is a great set for masculine cards:) Unfortunetly it is retired... I normally don't share cards with retired sets but to be honest... this is the first time that I have used it and then I realized that it was no longer available.  Oops.  This is what the second time I have done this.  I guess I need to go through my inventory and find out how "off" i actually got when I took that break.

The card today measures average size of 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" and is in the thick Whisper White.  I love the thicker Whisper White for the base of my cards:)  So, since I can not showcase the Moonlake stamp set, I am going to be showcasing the 2 ink colors that I used today.

Well that is all for today.  I hope you all enjoy your day and until next time...

World's Greatest

Hey there all!!!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share.  Today I am sharing a card that I made and sent to my daddy just because.  I love to send cards sparatically to my loved ones and friends just to let them know that I was thinking of them.  Plus it is nice to go to the mailbox and receive something that is personal and doesn't have a due date on it:)

This card is using the Going Places DSP. To be honest I didn't know at first if I was going to like this pack... it had designs in it that aren't really in my comfort zone.  But, when I got it I fell in love with the patterns once I saw them in person.  There are so many pretty (yes pretty) patterns in there and also it is great for masculine cards!

The stamp set that I used today is the Guy Greeting set.  It describes my Papa perfectly.  He by far is the best Dad, Grandpa and Husband that my mom, daughter and I could ask for:)

The item that I am showcasing today isn't the stamp set (which it usually is) but the DSP pack.  I just want to give this product praise because it really surprised me:

Well that is it for today my friends.  Don't forget to check out and "like" my Facebookpage and check out and "Subscribe" to my Youtube channel.  Until next time...

Sky Is The Limit

Hello Stampers!! Happy Valentines Day to you all!!  So, this is my first card share since I have been back in action.  I wanted to share a card with you that uses an item that is in the Sale-A-Bration catalog right now that is only available through February 15th.  Sale-A-Bration is not ending on February 15th, but there are a few items that are "short term" items.  Which the Sky is the Limit stamp set is one of them.

When I see this stamp set I automatically think "masculine", so that is the direction I went.  I did add some "bling" though with the Gold Glimmer paper.  Of course the item that I am showcasing today is the Sky Is The Limit stamp set:

So, on a side note I wanted to share with you the card that I made for my hubby.  I used the Heart Framelits that unfortunetly are retired but I still love them and obviously think that they work great for Valentines Day.

Isn't it cute?  Then, I got the cutest surprise for Valentines Day, something that I have been wanting...

I love, love, LOVE breakfast sammy's!!! To me this was the perfect gift.  We used it the morning of Valentines Day and they turned out AWESOME!!!! I am in love with it!!! Thank you so much Boo Bear!!!

Well, that is all for my first post! I really hope you all enjoyed! It feels so good to be back in the swing of things again!  Until next time...

Masculine Wishes

Hello there all. Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you all had a fabulous Easter!!! We had a great day spending time with family and Emma LOVED hunting for Eggs!!! We sure did have a very blessed day!!!

Today's share is of a masculine card using Earthy tones and the Wetlands stamps set.  This card is using a simple layering with Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar and Gingham Garden DSP.  I added some texture to my card by running my smaller piece of Baked Brown Sugar with my Fancy Fan embossing folder and Big Shot.  The product that i am featuring today is the Wetland stamp set.   It is a great stamp set for masculine cards however is very versatile and can be used for more elegant cards as well.

I want to thank the ones that participated in my Blog Candy and for all those that visit my site!  Means a lot!!  The winner of the Blog Candy is... (drum roll please....)

Susie's comment of: "I love scrapbooking! I love going through all my old photos! Brings back awesome memories!!!" is the winner!  I love scrapbooking too. King of the Jungle

Hi there all!! Welcome to today's share!

I wanted to share this masculine card that i did using the Zoo Review stamp set. I love the lion in this set!!  I wanted the card to be simple, yet masculine.  I decided to do an oval frame, cut from my Oval Framelits and Big Shot, with some sponges and my image.  I made a mask for my image, i will have a simple video tutorial on Masking here shortly.

Now, it took me a little bit to decide how i wanted my lion, so i thought that i would share with you my multiple tries and how i came to the conclusion.

Here is my first attempt.  This is where i learned that i wasn't going to be able to get away with not having a mask.  I thought that since i had coloring to do i would be able to cover the background colors since my Lion was going to be a darker color.  I learned that however was not the case!  I also played around to see what it might look like if i put some grass on either side.  Didn't like that either.

Round 2.  This time i was trying to decide on color for my lion.  I first tried with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. I used the Crumb Cake for his body and, you can't really tell that well in the picture but in person it actually looks more gray than brown, which is not what i wanted at all.  Then, with his mane in Soft Suede it just didn't look right to me.  Again with the grass.. thought maybe if i added some to the bottom too it would help... nope!!

Round 3.  With this one i tried more tones in the "yellow" family.  I went with Crushed Curry and So Saffron.  In this one i used the So Saffron for his mane and not his body, i didn't like how it turned out, i thought that they should of been reversed.  Well, i did that and that is the final card that you see today.  I really like how his colors turned out!!

The base of my card measures average size of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is in the Soft Suede.  My greeting is a simple Happy Birthday from the awesome Four You set.  The set that i am showcasing today is the Zoo Review set.

Now on to a look at the weekly deals that are available.  The Secret Garden framelits are one of my favorite die collections and i love the Itty Bitty Punch Pack! 2 amazing products for really good deals!!!

That is all for today my friends! Until next time...
