Herringbone Background

Happy day friends!! Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share.

So, I have seen this "Herringbone" cards in the past and thought that it was about time that I took a crack at it.  I have a co-worker who has a birthday coming up and I instantly thought of this kind of card for her.  I love the way that it turned out!!

I chose to use the Birthday Bouquet DSP.  With it being double sided, I only had to use 2 strip of each sheet.  This is a great technique to get rid of some of the DSP strips that you have laying around;)

The card today measures average size of 4 1/4" 11", scored at 5 1/2" and then my additional piece of Whisper White measures 3 3/4" x 5".  I chose a simple sentiment from the Flower Patch set:)

So, on another note... we got another batch of snow over the weekend...

Went to bed and it was nice and Spring like... woke up and it was like Christmas morning... oh wait... except we didn't have snow on Christmas morning... lol.  Mother Nature is a little confused.  I also heard that this upcoming weekend it is supposed to be in the 70's.  Goodness!!

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic day!! Thanks for taking a peek today:)  Until next time...

Uneven Panel Video

HELLO STAMPERS!!!! And happy Friday to you all!!! Thanks so much for taking a peek today at vmy Friday Video.  This is the Uneven Panel Card (or at least that is what I am calling it). I think that it is sooo cute!!:)  I love that it is different size than a regular size card, it measures 3" x 5 1/2".  Adorable:)

When it opens up and sits on your recipients table they are able to see all the awesome decorations that are going on inside too!!!  I thought that this card worked great with the Balloon Celebration stamp set and coordinating punch, which if you purchase in a bundle you can save 15%. Who doesn't love to save money right??

I still didn't know what direction that I wanted to go for the card that I made in the video, so I just added a greeting on the inside.  I don't like to rush my projects, if I know of a color combo that I like I will roll with it but as for decorating... if I don't have an idea or am inspired by something... I wait until I am.  Don't want to get done with it and end up not liking it:)

So that is going to be all for today my crafty friends.  Thanks again for taking a peek and until next time...

Nothing Tells You...

Hi there, how are you all?  Thank's for swinging into Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share:)

Today's card is a card that has one of my favorite greetings on it, I think that it just screams sooo many things.  The greeting is from the stamp set Butterfly Basics (as well as the flower image), but really the greeting is what made me fall in love with the set

It just makes me personally remember that you can never judge a book by it's cover because something may look like one thing but you never really know what it's true colors are... it may surprise you one day.

Anywhoo, this card is average size of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and then scored at 4 1/4".  This is a side opening card rather than a top folding card, which is normally the cards that I make.  Just thought I would switch it up a bit:)

Hope you all have an amazing day today.  Until next time...

Amazingly Amazing Birthday

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share!

Today's card is amazingly amazing, at least that is what I am calling it:)  I used the greeting from the stamp set Amazing Birthday and then backed it with a couple of banners using the Banner Framelits.  You can get the stamp set and the banners in a bundle and save 15% (just an FYI, lol)  To add a bit of "bling" I tore apart some of the Gold Sequence and glued it around the base of the card.

Now a few updates:

Yes, you read that right, Weekly Deals are going to be leaving.  They were originated to help SU! with some of their overstocked items, as time has gone on this is really no longer needed... from now on (or beginning April 18th) there is going to be "Special Offers".  This is going to happen every so often when SU! has an overstocked item that they are looking to share with you at a discounted price.

Here are the items that were released today in the Weekly Deal

Also, don't forget that the In-Colors for 2014-2016 are going to be retiring beginning in May

This includes the colors Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon (so sorry to see this one go), Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  Make sure to get your items today while supplies last.

Well, hope you all have a fabulous day!!!! Until next time...

Nuts About You

Hi there everyone.  Thanks for swinging in today:)

Today's share is a masculine card that I made using the Acorny Thank You set.  LOL, I just love the name of that set:)  This is a great card that is straight to the point for that special guy in your life.

The set has a coordinating punch, the Acorn Punch that I used to punch all the acorns out with.  You can purchase this stamp set and coordinating punch in a bundle and you would save 15%!!

I chose a piece of DSP from the Going Places DSP stack and then chose to use a darker color (Soft Suede) for the base of my acorns.  I was going to just leave them all Soft Suede, but decided not to and punched out a piece of Crumb Cake card stock after I did a tone on tone image to add the dots.

That's it for today.  Thanks so much for taking a peek today.  Until next time...

Crabby Birthday

Hey there stampers, welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'!!

Today is a card that is in the Sara's Simple Share's series.  I pulled out the stamp set You're Sublime and realized how cute this little crab is.  I didn't want him to be "crabby" so I decided to make him into a birthday crab.  I think that this is an adorable card for a toddler/child:)

Mr. Crab is holding a bouquet of balloons being that he is on his way to a birthday party, lol;)  I used the Balloon Celebration stamp set and filled in my balloon strings with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  My Stamp-A-Ma-Jig played a huge part in today's card as well.

Well there really isn't a lot else to say about today's share, it is pretty simple and pretty self explainitory:)  I am off to do some more crafting... it has been snowing here the last couple days again here in the mitten state so there has been lots of extra time to craft.  That's Michigan for you though, sunny and 70 one day and then the very next day snowy and in the 20's.  I saw this picture on Facebook the other day and it had me cracking up

I hope you all have a fantastic day friends!! Until next time...

On The Edge Video

Welcome stampers!! I'm so glad you were able to take a peek at today's Friday Video here at Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin'.

Today's share is of  a technique that I call "On The Edge".  It is where you take an image and/or a framelit and it hangs off the edge.  I love this technique.  It just adds that little WOW factor to a card.  This is what I would consider a Sara's Simple Share being that I literally used about 5 products, lol.

The card that I made in the video today I used the colors So Saffron and Pool Party for my butterfly, however after it dried for a bit it actually looks more green and yellow than blue and yellow... and I actually LOVE the way that it changed colors and the way that it looks.  Gives me another idea for another card... hmmmmm...:)

This technique is fairly simple and I love that it is so versatile, you can pretty much use it with any die set that you have:)

So that is all for today my friends.  Thanks again for stopping by and until next time...

Thoughts and Prayers

Hello everyone.  Welcome to Mrs. Lincoln's Inkin' and today's card share.

As much as we all hate to admit it, we every once in awhile need a sympathy card.  A co-worker of me lost someone close to her the other day and sometimes people don't really know what to say... so I always like to express myself through a card.  It says everything that I need it to.

I used a stamp set today that has been around forever... it's called Thoughts and Prayers and it is an amazing set. I used a piece of Everyday Chic on the left side of my card because I didn't want it to be just one solid color.  I broke it up with a piece of Pink Pirouette and then added a bow using the Blushing Bride cotton ribbon.  Very subtle and elegant I think.

Have you all got your last minute orders in so that you can receive one of the Sale-A-Bration items for free?  If not, make sure to take a peek at the catalog and place your order here.  I really appreciate your business and your support:)

Hope you all have a fantastic day and until next time...
